Amelia Island, Florida's First Coast world class family resort destination, and the location of historic Fernandina Beach, provide the peaceful setting for a quaint oceanfront residential enclave, the site of Crump SandCastle.
Standing tall over the sand dunes at surfside, a massively timbered, two story colonnade frames ever-changing views of sand and sea from a sprawling, elevated screened veranda.
For relaxed entertaining, glass walls open to join the casual elegance of spacious, informal interiors, to the veranda and sundecks. Four bedroom suites, each with private bath, offer gracious comfort and privacy for family and friends. Area Information

Amelia Island is the Northern Most barrier island in Florida. It is about 45 minutes from the Jacksonville Metropolitan area, and about 5 hours from Atlanta. The Jacksonville International Airport is only a 20 minute drive from Crump Sandcastle.

Other Vacation Rental Amenities

Most of these activities are within walking or biking distance. The house is oceanfront. Downtown Fernandina Beach Historic Area is only 1 mile away, and is an upscale shopping and restaurant district. Ft.Clinch State Park, an intact civil war fort, is great for history buffs, bikers, and borders our neighborhood. St. Augustine Florida, the Nations oldest City is only 1 hour away.

This is the third year our group has rented Crump Sandcastle and we alll love it. Very spacious family/gathering room and great screened porch. There are two oceanfront master suites, so several people can enjoy the sounds and smells of the surf. Looking forward to next year's trip!

Great Beach House for Large Family

This is a very well designed house for a beach vacation. All bedrooms have a view of the ocean. There are plenty of bathrooms as well as an outside shower stall. The center of the house includes the kitchen which flows into the family room which is connected to a scrrened in outside porch. This is great for congregating for meals as well as for playing games in the evening. The location is great as your are 30 yards from the beach, less than a mile from Fort Clinch and only about 1.5 miles to downtown Fernandina Beach. Improvements could be made to the maintenance as the handles to the sliding glass doors were broken and the refridgerator didi not keep things very cold. The grates to the grill were rusty and dirty. It would also be recomendd to bring your own beach chairs as the ones provided are old and rusty. Overall it is a great beach home and a nice place to stay for a fun beach vacation!

we loved the house. Perfect location, great deck off eating area and downtown Ferandina was lovely ...great dining choices. The ocean is just off a boardwalk that leads to the beach...lots of beach toys for kids, great kitchen setup, washer/dryer in garage. Highly recommend this house.

Dear Jack, We really enjoyed staying in your home. My family and I had a wonderful time. It was just great sitting on the deck and looking out into the ocean sooo peaceful. The house was just great every one had their own room and bathroom so we all had a little quite time if we wanted and the grandchildren had a great time right on the beach. We just hated to leave. This is a wonderful family vacation site. The home is well equipped and maintained. The location is away from busy streets and traffic and the view of the ocean is unbelievable. We have stayed at many homes in the area and this is by far the best.

Stayed at the Crumpcastle for a month and enjoyed every minute. Ginger and Jack's home on the beach is the best location on the beach. The beautiful house is well set up to accommodate (there were 11 of us at one time) families. The living room - kitchen/dining layout is great for cooking and gathering. The spacious four bedrooms and loft, together with the 4.5 baths provide lots of room and convenience for large groups and the 4.5 baths were appreciated. thank you, jill and jack for sharing your home with our family this past summer. the location is wonderful-walk out the door across the road to the beach. the views were wonderful. we spent lots to time on the screened porch chatting or listening to Jared play the guitar and sing. it was just a comfortable and enjoyable time for 14 of our family members to meet, and the kids had a blast. the crumps have provided tons(!) of beach toys to take over to the beach and a wagon to pull them in. awesome! convenient, beautiful, and lots of good food. thanks again, ginger and jack.
