Description of the Amelia vacation villa rental
The villa is an old nineteenth century farmstead, carefully rebuilt, which overlooks a green hillside in a natural beauty spot among cultivated fields, olive groves, vines, woods, fig and walnut trees the fruits of which are at the disposal of guesthouse clients.

La Palombara offers clients relaxation amidst the slow-moving rhythms of the changing seasons, rediscovering forgotten flavours of food cooked in an old wood-fired oven, basking in the sun by the side of the large pool surrounded by century-old olive trees, or taking excursions to Umbria's artistically most important towns. La Palombara is the ideal place to shed the stress of daily life in one of Italy's most art and culture-rich provinces as well as one of its most scenically attractive. To relax amid the sounds of nature, surrounded by ancient olive groves, woods of oak, to walk taking in the peace and tranquillity, resting not only the body but the mind as well. The peace and quiet enhance the depth of the rolling countryside in its constant variations of colour as the daylight hours and the seasons go by. La Palombara will show you unforgettable sunsets and nights steeped in silence under star-lit skies.

Area Info
In Umbria, a region that has gained a name for being the green heart of Italy, tourism is growing because of the unfamiliar harmony between nature, antiquities, historic centres (the landscape is dotted with many picturesque medieval villages) and culture. In the region immigrants from other countries of the European Union are also settling or buying second homes. The quiet of the countryside, good provisions and an inimitable cuisine are the great draw. Rents for houses are lower in comparison with Tuscany. Main cities to visit: Perugia, Orvieto, Spoleto, Assisi, Todi, Gubbio but there are also many charming little towns and villages.
From southern Umbria, in day trips, it also possible to visit Rome (we advice to go by train) and other charming little towns of northern Lazio (Tuscania, Tarquinia, Bagnaia, Civita di Bagnoreggio and the lakes of Bolsena, Bracciano and Vico) or southern Tuscany (Siena, Montepulciano, Cortona, .). Amelia is gorgeously sited on the rocks. The walls originate from the pre-Etruscan period (700 BC). It forms an ideal starting point for enjoying the peace of the surrounding hill and mountain landscape and on the other hand making at least 40 trips by car to sparkling towns like Todi, Orvieto, Narni, Spoleto, Viterbo (15 to 40 min.) or Perugia, Gubbio, Spello, Assisi, Tuscania and Tarquinia. In the more immediate surroundings there are numerous charming little villages - of medieval origin - which are increasingly being renovated for weekend and summer tourism. Al the shops you need are available in Amelia.
