Great Apartment in the Heart of Amsterdam, June 9, 2008

Location is fantastic: right near Centraal Station, Dam Square, and the main shopping streets. Didn't bother me but it's quite a noisy area. I think Centraal was a better match for our group than other areas like Rembrandtplein or Leidseplein (which are beautiful areas to visit but are further out)- just personal preference. Always felt safe, though as is true anywhere, I would make sure to stay with your group. Apartment was perfect and comfortable for a small number (we had 4), though a much bigger group would have been tight. Apartment was clean and bright, beds comfortable, and pool table an entertainment plus. You'll have to buy your own groceries, soap, toilet paper, general supplies, but towels and extra sheets were plentiful and appreciated! Nancy, the reservation manager, was lovely, and sat down with us and a map to show us the major sites. If possible, take the opportunity to see Amsterdam by bike and boat...there are several shops nearby that rent both for cheap. Enjoy!
