Lovely little houseboat, near center of Amsterdam (#4219)

Write a review I stayed in a house boat that is far more house than boat. I love watching the calm water with swans and ducks swimming by, or sitting around outside on the deck/patio. To get to your vacation home, you take a free ferry that runs constantly across the water from Central Station. It is a beautiful ride, very quick, and you experience something not every tourist does. If you rent a bike, as I always do, you walk your bike onto the ferry, along with fellow travelers on foot, and a few scooters here and there. It can be busy near the station, but that should be no surprise. The house boat itself has a great set up, with an excellent living room/dining area, lots of windows, and I really felt like I was "at the beach." Lots of privacy. Kitchen has everything you need, stove, fridge, etc. I will be there next year as well, and I prefer a home like this to a hotel any and every day of the week. You will not regret your stay at this lovely little houseboat. Easy to book ! We had such a great stay on the houseboat. It was exactly what we were looking for - clean, quiet, separated from the busy downtown yet accessible. It provided everything we needed & more. And the experience of staying on a houseboat was so much fun. We would love to come stay again! This is a wonderful houseboat, perfect for me and my boyfriend when we stayed recently to celebrate my 30th birthday in Amsterdam. Located really conveniently, we were able to pop back during the day to drop off various purchases, and the free 24hr ferry is really brilliant, even in incredibly foggy weather it still ran. To all future guests - if you're going out of the summer season bring your slippers! In a last minute packing rush we chucked ours in. On rainy cold days it made the houseboat even more cosy and snug. I loved this boat and it made my birthday holiday even more special. Will definitely be recommending to my friends! Mirjam and Sander provided excellent service from the moment I emailed them my inquiry. I have little to add to the previous reviews or the completely accurate depiction of the houseboat itself. It is spacious, bright (even with overcast weather) and as well outfitted as a hotel room (including a washer!) Getting into central Amsterdam couldn't be easier. Have a wonderful stay. The little houseboat is just as it appears in the photos. It offers a peaceful retreat with a great view of the canal. We did have daily visitors for breakfast... two fantastic swans accompanied by an armada of ducks. Just a short ferry ride from Amsterdam Central station and very easy to locate. The ferry does indeed operate 24hrs a day. We stayed during Nov 06 and found all systems worked well. Our host were cordial and provided every assistance. We stayed in the houseboat from 11 March to 18 March. It was absolutely perfect. Being just outside of the city in the quiet neighborhood helped us to relax and enjoy our holiday there. The owners were very helpful with directing us in places to see and how to get there. Their attention to detail really made the difference. This "little houseboat" had more than enough to satisfy our needs and it exceeded all of our expectations. Our next trip to Amsterdam will have to be to the houseboat. We really did not want to leave. It is truly the perfect get away. We would recommend staying there to everyone. Thanks for everything, it couldn't of been any better!!! I stayed on this houseboat for 4 nights in late February of this year and really enjoyed it. Minimalistic and simple, I found the unit clean and very peaceful compared to the hustle, bustle of nearbye Amsterdam. A short bike ride to the ferry left me right at Amsterdam Central. Fortunately for me in the middle of Winter, the heat, water, and all systems were in good order. The owner met me the day I arrived and was very cordial. Everything was as described. I would not recommend this rental for a larger group than 3 or 4 since it is a "little houseboat". Otherwise both thumbs up!
