Description of the Anchor Point vacation cottage rental

Hear the sound of the Anchor River rushing by, while enjoying the comforts of this rustic, but comfortable two-bedroom cottage. This is a cozy and private property, on the banks of the north fork of the Anchor River. There is a kitchen, eating area, living room, and two bedrooms. Depending on the season, you are only minutes from King Salmon, Silver Salmon, Steelhead, and Dolly Varden fishing.

Area Description

Anchor Point's claim to fame is it's fishing. The beach is a launch site for halibut fishing and salmon trolling, while the river boasts King Salmon, Silver Salmon, and Steelhead runs. Anglers also enjoy fishing for Dolly Varden and Rainbow Trout in the late summer and fall. Other favorite activities are beachcombing, hiking, and four-wheeling in the summer, and skiing and snowmachining in the winter.

The Road Less Traveled, September 15, 2008
By Claude Huber (Sonora, CA)
We had a relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this rental. At first we compared the rental to fancy B&B's and high priced rentals. This item didn't work or that thing was stuck, but then we began to hear the water flowing nearby, and listen to the soft sound of silence. The rental is midway between condo and cabin. In short, it was comfortable. The owner was very pleasant and left us to ourselves. The seven mile drive to town was a wonderful attitude adjustment because of the beautiful scenery. We were about 20 miles from Homer and noticed that when we were in sunshine, Homer was in rain and clouds. We were surprised and pleased with the lush verdant countryside. Yes, the place is a northern rain forest. Took about 150 photos. Caught lots of fish, shipped 50 lbs halibut and salmon fillets home. Bottom line: rental was affordable, located in a scenic postcard, and a perfect place to relax.

 Great place..., June 12, 2008

This is a wonderful little cottage at great affordable prices. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and it is in a location convenient to Homer as well as the rest of the Kenai peninsula. We also very much enjoyed the close proximity to the Anchor River and King Salmon fishing.
