Description of the Andover vacation cabin rental
Drive to the tiny village at the end of the state highway. Continue north into the mountains, and the road soon turns to dirt. Drive along the babbling brook for another mile. Turn right just before the road turns into a snowmobile trail in the rugged Sawyer Notch. Wind your way up onto the ridge through a beautiful birch forest. Drive to the end of the road and you're there!
Settle in, enjoy the panoramic mountain view from the huge open deck under the hemlock trees. No TV, no noise, no traffic, no people. Set on the porch, sipping stove-top percolated steamy coffee. Doze off in the chaise lounge. Snuggle by the wood stove and play checkers or read. Just you, your family, (including your pets!) and books, board games, crossword puzzles, cards, campfire, woods, streams, waterfalls, owls, turkeys, deer, moose and mountains, lots of mountains. Wander down the trail and see a moose. Find antler sheds. Snow shoe, ski, hike, bike, ATV, kayak... or... just SIT and do nothing! Wake up in the morning and enjoy the panoramic mountain view, without moving a muscle, from the huge window at the foot of your bed. Additional huge windows in the kitchen and living room assures you will not miss the gorgeous sunset from any room. Yes, even the bathroom!!
The cottage is non-electric... no intrusions from the outside world. For your comfort and convenience, it has gas lights, a refrigerator/freezer, and a full size range. The attached (heated!) bath room has a clean, odor free composting toilet, seasonal gravity fed solar heated shower and a sink. Drinking and washing water, and firewood are provided. There is a full bed in a private bedroom; two twin beds in the loft (which are easily slid together to form a KING size bed!) . WE ARE PET FRIENDLY; do not leave poor Fido behind! There is plenty of room for him to run.

My Best Kept Secret

This has been our second trip to this property and just when I thought it couldn't get any better.....Well it did......BIG TIME! If your looking for a last minute escape from a hectic work life, or just want to get away from it all than this is the place of your dreams. Often when work gets a little crazy in the winter "as we all know it sometimes does" to ease my mind I just imagine my time at Camp Winona and the serenity and peacefulness it provided us with. (their other cabin shown on the right hand side of this page)This new camp is a beautiful hand crafted rustic cabbing perched on top of a beautiful secluded mountain. Your amazing hosts have provided you with a vast and endless amount of amenities for your trip. Your cabin has everything a chef as myself would need to cook a gourmet meal. We enjoyed a roasted beef tenderloin with root vegetables and several other amazing meals while we were there. From paper towels to a set of chef knives or even a nice book to read, Brenda and Lance have it waiting there for you. Our first sunrise on our first morning my sister as well as the 2 six year old children we had were astonished to see a female "cow" moose and her baby a "calf" stroll right in-front of the camp. Almost as if we were never even there. We have gained memories that i know will last a life time at this property and I would like to thank the owners for sharing this with us as well as the public. Thank-you Brenda and Lance for everything you do. This property provides something that I have found to be priceless and trust me you will not be disappointed! Thanks again for sharing Most Sincerely, Justin & Candice

Not enough time to take it all in! Beautiful location, views go on forever. If you like hiking and exploring this is it. Make sure you make it to Devil's Den. Looking forward to seeing it in the snow. The cabin is so cozy we didn't want to leave and neither did the dog! I could go on and on, but go and visit for yourself!

Took my wife here for our 1st year anniversary and we had a great time! The Brenda and her husband have done a great job with this place. Moose Mountain is brand new and has all the luxuries you need to remain off the grid. We really enjoyed hiking all the trails around and just driving through the many miles of beautiful fall forest. I would highly recommend this cabin if you want something unique and special. Can't wait to return!

This is a wonderfully designed and decorated cabin. It is charming and cozy. Large windows enabled us to appreciate the outstanding mountain that were visible even from the very comfortable double bed. The gas lights are very effective at illuminating the rooms. The gas refrigerator and stove work well. The cabin is thoroughly equipped. We appreciated sunsets and mountains from the very comfortable chairs on the spacious deck. Star-gazing from the back yard was spectacular. The composting bathroom is inside; it does not smell. A small fire in the wood stove quickly heated the cabin. Excellent hiking and canoeing possibilities are in the vicinity. Our hosts left a great bottle of wine to soothe our aching joints after a hike. Highly recommended.
