Description of the Angel Fire vacation cabin rental

The name describes the home and once you arrive, you will see why. It is 5 miles south of Angel Fire, nestled amongst beautiful pines, aspens, firs, and a kaleidoscope of colorful wild flowers. The views from the porch or from the front picture window is a scene out of a painting each night. A breathtaking view of the mountains is seen along with the infamous sunsets each night. Angel Fire's name was chosen by Indians when they were captivated by the beautiful red glow of the sun behind the mountains. Each season hold several treasures of their own. The cabin is over 2000 sq feet with plenty of room to spread out. The cabin sits on over 2 fenced-in acres; an expansive flat area where the cabin sits and a sloping hill that provides tons of hideouts,fort areas for the kids to play, and an old fashioned campfire area. The property backs up to private ranch land. It is very quiet and peaceful there. The cabin is decorated with a rustic theme and was built with coziness in mind. The great room is 30 x 25 ft; a wonderful fully stocked kitchen; 2 bedrooms/2 baths downstairs with a jacuzzi and walk-in rock shower; and a huge loft upstairs called the bunkhouse along with a bathroom replicating an outhouse (the kids love it)! There is plenty of room on the property to unload your snowmobiles or 4 wheelers, build snowmen, have snow ball fights, or whatever else you choose. From the cabin to the Angel Fire ski area, the drive is only 10 minutes to step onto the slopes. The finest ski area in New Mexico is in Angel Fire. If you want a little more excitement, there are tubing hills there at the ski basin that are for all skill levels. They even have tubing at night with plenty of lights. There are several sledding hills in the area by our place and we supply 6 sleds for the fun! Once you are frozen and unable to move, head up to the cabin where there is plenty of cocoa and warmth from the remote controlled gas fireplace. You will definitely enjoy this place and won't want to leave. You will truly be blessed as we have been!

Area Description

As mentioned before, the property is 5 miles from Angel Fire. Angel Fire is a beautiful town surrounded by the Sangre de Christo (Blood of Christ) mountains. The town has recently been discovered as one of the best kept resort secrets in the U.S. It is growing and is supposedly going to become the next Vail. The town offers many activities to enjoy. As mentioned, the ski area is excellent, offering many type of slopes for the beginner and the experts, with the most up to date equipment. It is family oriented in every aspect. Other winter sports include tubing, sledding, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, ice fishing, cross-country skiing, etc. In the summer, there are activities of fishing, boating, golfing, wine tasting, hiking, horseback riding, white water rafting, 4 wheeling, sight seeing, shopping, etc. One of our guests compared their stay as better than "Disney World"! Angel Fire is within what is called the Enchanted Circle. It is an area that circles the mountains which includes stops in Taos, Red River, and Eagles Nest. Lots of fun in those areas as well. Old mining towns were prevalent in the area and several museums to enjoy. Only a few miles south from the cabin is where "Lonesome Dove" was filmed. You can go there and see the cabin where it was filmed. There is also a lot of wildlife to enjoy while visiting. Nearly every specie of birds, squirrels, chipmunks, rabbits, elk, deer, bear, bobcats, etc roam the area. Much to do and much to see, or just lay back at the cabin drinking in all the beauty.

The cabin was beautiful, the pictures did not do it justice. Everything was ready for us when we arrived. Everything was in working order and we had not problems at all.
