This house and location looked fantastic. I was however, very disappointed upon arrival. I was early and since I was not the one who negotiated this rental I was made to wait outside with my family (twin 12-year olds, an 18 month old and my wife) until my mom arrived. Even when my mom did arrive, she was turned away and was told she could not enter until she provided cash for the remainder of the deposit. We spent 3 hours the first evening cleaning. Disgusting doesn't even begin to describe the interior. There were layers of sand on everything. The vacuum that was hidden in the closet was overflowing with sand and weighed nearly 15 pounds. The sink leaked horribly, which made under the sink an atrocity. There was so much mold and black slime that it caused the gag reflex to trigger while trying to clean. We had to seal this cabinet off so it wasn’t opened inadvertently allowing the putrid odor to engulf the kitchen. We had to remove an area rug from the living room and place it outside because it was so laden with mildew that it was adversely affecting my wife’s allergies. The window sills were overloaded with so much sand that the windows didn’t close completely. The water in the shower was warm at best. As nice and excited as we were to rent this unit, we couldn’t stay inside too long because there wasn’t any place clean enough for our baby to crawl or play. In the process of trying to remake the beds, because we needed to shake all the sand out of the sheets, the bed was moved away from the wall. There literally was an outline of sand under the bed, indicating that the bed had not been moved in some time to clean under it. Additionally, the bed in the larger bedroom was pushed up against a board that was an access panel for wires and plumbing coming up from the basement. We were never able to get the panel completely back in place and as a result, air from the basement blew into the room. This wouldn’t have been a problem, but the basement air was completely engrossed with the odor of mildew. Part of the rental agreement was to take trash to the street for pickup. We had to drag 6 overflowing trash cans to the curb, keeping in mind that 1 garbage bag of trash was ours in fear that this woman would not return our deposit if any trash cans were left full. We left the house in significantly better condition than we found it; however, this woman would not refund our deposit. This woman was unfriendly, mean, and simply put, a

Location & beach are great. Beware of dirty house, big black carpender ants in silverware drawer, kitchen faucet leaks, black soot on bathroom floor & stool, tub black with stains, replaced shower curtain myself because of the mold & smell, stove very dirty, floors loaded with sand, dust on walls & under all furniture, no hot water only lukewarm, throw rugs at door entrances were filthy. All window sills had at least 2 inches of sand in them. There is no hide-a-bed in the love seat. 4 of the 6 of us had a bed. 1 slept on the floor on an old mattress that was stuffed in a closet. 1 slept on the floor on the cushions from the love set. My family & I, all from out of town, spent 3 hrs cleaning before we did anything else. My son fixed even fixed the front screen door so it wouldn't bang everytime someone went in or out. To top all that, the Owner rude to my son & his family. Renter expected to be the gardener & water owners garden flowers & the maintenance person to put previous renters garbage pails out on street for pickup. My week at this beach house was a nightmare. Beware, Beware, Beware!

The house is adequate, but nothing special. Location is good. Our problem is that despite repeated assurances from owner that we would get our security back, we DID NOT receive it. We left house in good condition and were surprised that owners did not follow through on promises to return security. RENTER BEWARE.

Please tour property before you rent. Not worth 1500/week. No where comfortable to sit. Grill, fireplace unusable. Single mattresses very uncomfortable and stained.
My family had the best vacation of our lives! House nicely decorated and clean. Everything we needed was there. The owners thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. Can't wait to go back. ~Doris & Jim
Great place to rent! I work in the city. My wife stayed at the beach with the kids and I was able to drive 30 min. to work in Buffalo during the week. Every afternoon, I enjoyed dinner on the grill, a cool swim, bonfire on the beach, and incredible stars at night. My family is still talking about how much fun we had and we have our week booked for this season. -David M.
I highly recommend this rental property. If you are lucky enough to get a week or two, you'll remember it fondly.
