Vintage vacation cabin on beautiful Sugar Lake
If you like to fish, Sugar Lake is well stocked with bluegill, large mouth bass, muskie, Pike and Wall-eye. If you like to swim, the water is pristine and the lake bottom is firm in front of the cabin. There is a dock and canoe provided and boats/ jet-skis can be rented nearby.
The interior of the cabin is all knotty-pine, with everything you need to cook that fish you catch. A grill and firepit are also available outside.
Maple Lake, Annandale, and Clearwater are all only 10-15 minutes away and provide plenty of shopping and recreational prospects. St. Cloud is an easy half hour's drive from the cottage.

Sunsets were beautiful!!!!

We were a family of five with three 23-27 yr olds. Just what I was looking for. Definately a "cabin", functional with what we needed ( two chefs in the family were able tp prepare gourmet with what was available (we brought a few odd things). Not much for consumable supplies, but we were the last renters of the season, so understandable. Liked the screened in porch, sunrise from the canoe, huge farmers/swap market on Sat, played croquet, swam, cooked and relaxed! If you are looking for perfection and new beds, this is not your spot. If you are looking for real retro and a nice lake this is it. Owner, Nancy, is very helpful with what is available near by and had great communication throughout. Would love to go back again.
Glad you enjoyed yourselves and glad the Minnesota weather cooperated. There will be new mattresses in the bunkhouse next summer! I might add that the mattresses in the cabin proper are not "vintage"......a fairly new queen Serta mattress is in the master bedroom and 10 year old twin mattresses in good shape are in the other bedroom. I do hope you come back next summer.
Awesome Way to End Summer

My family rented this vintage 1970s cabin and spent 3 days waterskiing. The water was warm, the lake was mostly empty and a great time was had by all. The cabin worked perfectly for us and the location can't be beat. Highly recommended.
I'm so glad you had a good time. I think you rented a ski boat from Bremer's in Maple Lake who will deliver any boat they rent (pontoons, etc.) to the public landing on Sugar Lake. (They are listed online). I learned to water ski on Sugar Lake and also taught my son to ski on this lake. Great memories!
The perfect place to make memories

This cabin provided friends and I just the quiet, relaxing cabin-y experience we were seeking. The clear swimming lake, unparalleled sunsets, quiet private location, and comfortable well-equipped cabin couldn't have been better. Both owner and caretaker were a delight to work with. I can't recommend this place enough! We will definitely rebook and tell all our friends about this gem on the lake.
Nice Little Cabin

First I want to say Nancy the cabin owner is wonderful, she was very helpful and cares about us, as renters, and the property. The sunsets at night were amazing, and there are plenty of windows facing the lake to get a good view. We spent a lot of time with my young kids fishing for sunny's off the dock and had a blast! We even caught a few bass and good size Northern. We did swim and float around the dock. The bottom of the lake is a bit rocky, so we got some water shoes and everything was great! The temperature was in the 80s while we were there, so we did not need to use the window AC unit that was there, but kept the windows open and the breeze kept us plenty cool. There is a little TV with a DVD player that works fine, but we only used it to watch a movie once. We had plenty to do to keep us occupied. The cabin is older, which is what we were looking for. While it has everything you may need, there is nothing fancy about this cabin. The furniture is classic 70's and very comfortable. Plenty of dishes, pots, pans etc... Had to relearn how to grill on charcoal, which was fun. Hot water, nice big fridge, Stove top, microwave all worked great. Comfortable beds. Plenty of towels etc... On bonus was we ended up meeting the nice couple across the street, and for a few cupcakes they let the kids play on their nice sandy beach. Over all we had a great time.
