Description of the Annapolis vacation home rental

Fredelig sted"(peaceful place) is patterned after a Norwegian cottage with curved roof on the outside and knotty pine and birch wood inside.

The bright panoramic view of the Chesapeake from the great room, master bedroom or deck elicits a relaxed, peaceful mood as soon as you arrive. Watch the seagulls or osprey play in the breeze or the dozens of sailboats in the distance while you are curled up on a deck chair in the shade of a huge oak tree. Bring a book or read one from the collection in the book case.

When you are hungry, light the charcoal grill, or the oven, or travel a few minutes to Skipper's Pier or any of the fine restaurants along the river or the bay. Even more restaurants are in nearby Annapolis, just 30 minutes away.

In winter, enjoy the deck with heat from the fire pit, or watch the Bay from inside the cozy thermal windows.

Area Information

Located directly on the Chesapeake Bay in the small town, Deale, MD,--just 25 minutes south of Annapolis. Baltimore Inner Harbor is just 45 minutes away with the National Aquarium and many other activities. Washington DC is one hour away with all its attractions.

This is a great place to relax and read a book while the kids play in the back yard or swim in the Bay.

A pier for your boat is nearby (not on-site), but bring your kayak along, and your kite for a constant breeze.

The children or adults can play croquet, badminton or ride the swing in the fenced back yard. Or they can wade or swim in the Bay right in front of the house.

Annapolis has theaters, playhouse, symphony, pirate ship for kids, sight-seeing, crab cruises. Winery tours and tasting and nature trails are nearby including a stand of huge bald cypress trees with native birds. Pier and boat launch 5 minutes away.
House has "green" amenities: fluorescent bulbs, pprogrammable thermostat, cozy petroleum-free spray foam insulation, insulated windows, total recycling.

Great in all respects

We enjoyed our week at the Deale house. The home was great, just as pictured and described. Dr. Little was wonderful to work with both before and after our stay--he quickly sent to us several things left behind. The house is very quiet and out of the way, with good routes to where you want to go, especially to DC.

The Pictures Don't Do It Justice!

This place is absolutely incredible. The pictures do not show how truly amazing the view is. We came to the property the weekend of March 9th for a Birthday Celebration with friends. The sleeping arrangements were perfect. We had 10 guests and everyone slept comfortably. For groups who have single guests or children, the six twin beds are a huge bonus. The inside of the home is immaculate and clean. The common areas also provid plenty of seating for large groups. Our favorite part was the backyard. You have the amazing bay view and a perfectly flat lawn that provides the perfect setting for bocce ball and ladder golf. An added bonus is the location... it only took us 45 minutes to get here from D.C. so it is perfect for a weekend escape from the city. There are incredible hikes (Calvert Cliffs and Jugs Bay) nearby and plenty of great seafood restaurants. The home also provides grills for cooking out and a fire pit for chilly nights. I would highly recommend this home!!!

Four days in Paradise

Truly it was a Million Dollar View on the Chesapeake Bay from this renting house. We were four families stayed in this house for four days and it was absolutely perfect. The neighborhood has some wonderful old houses and the scenic beauty is pretty good. The back deck was great with BBQ machines and we loved being able to eat outside on the deck as well. This is really a beautiful place. It was also very accessible to downtown and the major freeways. The house has all the comforts of home and then some. Clean, organized and spacious. The rental home is perfect for a group up to 10 members. We were 9 adults and 4 children. This house in Deale was even more than advertised. I will definitely stay here again and recommend to my other friends when coming to Annapolis. Thank you.

Better than photos can show

This property is so charming that photos cannot show it well. The million dollar view of the Chesapeake Bay can be seen through a wall of windows around the great room, the spacious deck, or from the master suite and balcony upstairs. There is a lovely lawn between the house and the Bay, as well as a fenced yard full of flowers at the rear of the property. A long, attractive community pier is adjacent to the property. The house is bright, cheerful, easy to keep clean, and well appointed with top notch appliances. The fire pit on the deck is nice for chilly evenings. We hope to return when the weather is warm enough to swim and we have time to explore the charming, historic Annapolis area nearby.

Our weekend stay during Washing D.C Visit

We came from Montreal, Canada to visit Washington D.C.'s Cherry Blossom Festival. We rented this lovely place to stay and it was only 45 minutes drive away from Washington D.C. We love the place, it is so peaceful to sit just beside the window to watch the bay, we have 2 families shared the place, we all like it and thought we could spend more time inside of the house just to relax and enjoy the water instead of too many visits in Washington D.C. , we are coming back when time is allowed again.
