Fun in Asheville

This was a great apartment for the 3 of us - me and my 2 adult children. An easy walk to town and at night a $8 (including tip) cab ride back....be sure to try the Haunted Comedy Bus Tour by LaZoom - hysterical!

Great Little Big House
April 3, 2013
My wife and I spent Easter Weekend in Asheville at the Little Big House. Andrea's personality and knowledge is amazing. She knew the places to visit and the quickest way there, There were fresh flowers, clean sheets, and candy in the room. Andrea goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect. My wife loved the kitchen and the place was better in person. We were very lucky to chave stumble across the computer advertisement. All our trips to Asheville is a must stay at the Little Big_house. Thanks Andrea for making our stay perfect! I highly recommend it you can't beat it.

I loved The Little Big House. It was a cozy, charming apartment which had wi-fi & your own washer & dryer & a great shower. I napped in the hammock on its own cozy little porch, took walks with my dog (and the owner's wonderful dog, Clancy) into downtown, along the terrific green ways and around Montford Park and Five Points, all of which are right there. Fresh flowers in the apartment along with really soft bed sheets were special. Owner, Andrea made great recommendations for restaurants and was delightful. From now on, when I go to Asheville, I'm staying at The Little Big House.

A Charming and Cozy Apartment
October 8, 2012
My husband, daughter and I spent three nights in the Little Big House in early October, and we had a wonderful experience! The apartment is loaded with charm and character, and Andrea's personal touches made us feel so comfortable and at home. There were fresh flowers in the living room and bedroom, a beautiful, well-appointed kitchen and even a doggie bed and food bowls waiting for our pups. We felt more like welcomed guests than renters. The house is in a fun, laid-back neighborhood great for walking and exploring with easy access to downtown. We had a great time in Asheville and look forward to returning for another stay at the Little Big House!

More like Home Than A Motel Room

Andrea at The Little-Big House was AweSome!!! We were expecting our first Grandbaby and he arrived a few days earlier. She went out of her way to have it cleaned and ready for us just after her other guest left. The apartment was just right size for my husband, myself and our Lab, Harley. The location is close to everything....while being in Asheville we visited as much as we could, eating out was fun, lots of different restaurants to choose from, we enjoyed The Southern, Asheville Pizza on Merrimon, everything you can think of. We also cooked at the apt and made dinner several nights for my son's, which they always enjoy a home cook meal. Andrea was a wealth of info on what to do around Asheville and she had info in the apt to read up things to do.... Even on chasing waterfalls....We will be Back.... Leaves will be changing soon, and I will be needing to get back to Giving Hugs to my Grandbaby boy....:-)))

Absolutely Perfect
June 29, 2012
My family and I stayed at the Little-Big House for two weeks in June, and I cannot say enough good things about this beautiful little apartment. Although there is only one closed bedroom, we felt so comfortable and cozy we were tempted to stay forever (even the sleeper sofa was comfortable!). The owner is the consummate hostess and goes out of her way to make you feel at home while also respecting your privacy. She has truly thought of everything: excellent linens, handmade soap from the local farmer's market, baskets for bread, sparklers for the kids, even a jar with holes in the lid to catch fireflies for a temporary nightlight. She is such a lovely person! The small garden space is magical- the world's most comfortable hammock and chairs with lots of cushions will tempt you to lounge among the flowers all day. If you can rouse yourself, the Botanic Garden is only minutes away, and downtown is within easy reach by car or a healthy and pleasant walk. (we walked almost everywhere during our stay.) We enjoyed our stay so much we will be returning soon... while we look for a permanent home in beautiful Asheville! Thank you, Andrea, for such a warm welcome.

Graduation Celebration in Asheville
June 5, 2012
Staying at the Little Big House in Asheville was a perfect way to end a Mountain biking trip in western NC. The apartment is well decorated with artistic touches and local touches. The layout is cozy. The location is great. The neighbors are all smiles. I honestly have never felt warmer hospitality that that shown by Andrea.

The apartment had a separate entrance, with a nice private porch and hammock to the side. Everything down to the sheets were top notch. We really felt at home! Andrea even had some dog bowls out ready for our dog Josie. It was very easy to get around town, as we were only a couple miles from everything in Asheville. My wife said she could live in the apartment forever! Thanks again, we will be back!

Very pleasant

Even in the dead of winter, the environment and atmosphere of the Little Big House is charming, warm and welcoming. Everything was sparkly clean. The apartment is tastefully appointed and very convenient to the best parts of Asheville. If you enjoy a cottage garden, go in the spring, where the flowering plants all around the patio are surely delightful. But the live plants and fresh flowers inside made a January visit cozy and cheerful, too.

lovely weekend home
December 6, 2011
We came for the weekend and were looking for a place to call home for a few days. Absolutely perfect, charming, comfortable space. Andrea was a wonderful host--ventilation was a slight problem the last morning, but I'm sure she'll take care of that. Would highly recommend to friends and strangers.

Much Love to the Little Big House!
November 30, 2011
My wife and I have stayed here twice now. First of all, Andrea is a wonderful host. She is super sweet and always good for restaurant recommendations. The place is always spotless, clean linens, towels, everything. It's a very cozy apartment with an awesome book selection. The kitchen is perfect, and the porch with hammock and chairs are an extra special touch. It is walking distance to an urban forest where we can enjoy nature with our dog. Super close to downtown as well, and there is a GreenLife grocery store in the neighborhood. I will most definitely stay here every time I visit Asheville. We have even recommended it to friends, they will be returning as well.

Wished we could have stayed longer!
October 11, 2011
By luck, I stumbled on The Little-Big House when searching for a place to stay while in town for a wedding. I couldn't have been more pleased with my find especially after comparing notes with another guest who stayed in the block of reserved hotel rooms. I spent less and got so much more! This warm, tidy and charming retreat was a welcome sight after spending the evening on my feet. We hope to make it back to Asheville soon and I can't imagine staying anywhere other then TLBH. Thanks Andrea!

We had a pleasant and peaceful four-night stay at The Little-Big House. Its location is a comfortable walking distance to downtown Asheville and Merrimon Avenue restaurants and retail shops. The lush garden on the property was so welcoming. Andrea was easy to work with and respectful of our privacy. Our time at TLBH truly contributed to a positive first-time experience in Asheville.

Summer as it used to be
July 30, 2011
The Little Big House is the perfect place to relax, decompress, and take it easy. The immaculate apartment is well-equipped, and tastefully decorated. I especially appreciated the fact that there were no bowls of potpourri, scented oil wicks, or perfumed candles. They would have been superfluous anyway, because with the windows open the much nicer smells of freshly cut grass, flowers, and approaching rain come freely in. Although it was hot in Asheville and the apartment has an air conditioner, we never felt the need to use the AC. It's bliss to lie in the porch hammock and watch the bees in the Rose-of-Sharon and the butterflies in the butterfly bush, or to read, or to doze. The LBH is in an eclectic neighborhood of cottages with crazy-beautiful gardens, where kids still play outside and people still sit out on their porches. The Botanical Garden is an easy walk and even easier drive; so is the North Asheville tailgate market; and downtown is five minutes by car. Andrea was the perfect hostess, warm and friendly and ready with Asheville tips but equally respectful of our privacy. If you're looking for amenities such as a dishwasher, a garbage disposal, or a giant plasma TV, or if you're bothered by the idea of hearing footfalls from upstairs, or if you find old houses more irritating than charming, the Little Big House probably isn't your cup of tea. But if you're looking for an apartment brimming with character and comfort, you couldn't possibly do better.

Perfect for our needs
July 6, 2011
We arrived in the dead of winter, snow and ice on the ground. Andrea had the gas logs burning, and made sure the Little Big House was cozy and warm for us. We had a great stay and are looking forward to going back this summer to experience Asheville , and the Little Big House, in warmer weather! It's a cozy, cute place that's very clean and with a comfy bed. Great walkable neighborhood too.

Lovely place to stay!
June 9, 2011
The apartment was a lovely respite from traveling on my 4-day drive from Illinois to eastern Carolina. The bed was comfortable, the living room spacious, and the kitchen well-suited for cooking (which I did). The apartment was also within walking distance of downtown Asheville without the steep price of a downtown hotel or the late-night noise. Andrea, the owner, was very helpful and easy-going. I highly recommend this place, especially if you want to relax.

This place is a cozy nest. It has such charm and personality. The bed was warm with the softest linen. The yellow kitchen was a perfect sun spot in the morning light. Andrea has a giving nature and unique spirit. I would choose to stay here again and wish to bring my girlfriend to experience the special place.

Perfect Place for everything Asheville
July 31, 2010
My family and I had the most wonderful time in Asheville and The Little-Big House felt like home while we were there. The 2 months I was here (from June to July) were perfect. It was quiet enough for me to study while at grad school and close enough to walk to the downtown to relax. My husband and daughter got the enjoy the last 2 weeks in July here as well. The Botanical Gardens, hiking trails, baseball, music, food, farmer's markets, and art galleries are all close by. The apartment was roomy and comfortable. Sitting on the porch and reading in the hammock are a necessity. We can't recommend this place enough, or Andrea's hospitality!

SOOO glad we found this place!!
March 29, 2010
We planned a last minute trip to Asheville and I found this place 3 days before we left. Andrea responded very promptly and politely. She even helped us find our way around the rock slide from Knoxville. The apartment is so cozy and cute. It is so close to downtown. She had magazines and pamplets available in the apartment which really helped us find entertainment and dining. My boyfriend and I LOVED our stay at the Little Big House so much! We will definetly be back to visit soon! Thank you so much for everything Andrea!! Sara & Jake

Great place to stay!
February 9, 2010
I'd wanted to visit Asheville for years and finally had the chance this February. Trying to avoid staying in a roadside motel, I was lucky enough to stumble upon the Little Big House. Three words: I'll Be Back! This place is great; comfortable, quiet, spotless, fully equipped--everything is there, including a french press! Beat that hotel chain! Even better, it's a mile from downtown and all highway entrances. If you're headed to Asheville and want to experience the great beer culture, no worries; parking at the little big house is safe, as is walking to the center of town. I loved my stay in Asheville and attribute so much of that sentiment to having found such a great Little Big House! Can't wait to go back. I books the LBH based on the reviews, and the affordable price. Do the same....you won't be disappointed!

a BIG little Asheville vacation
January 27, 2010
Our stay in the Little House was a wonderful respite from our life in Philadelphia. The apartment was wonderfully appointed, delightfully comfortable, and perfectly located. Andrea made sure we had everything we needed, then let us enjoy our stay. Warm & engaging, she was always available to answer any of our questions. Loved being able to walk to a nearby park and have easy access to downtown Asheville. We enjoyed (big!) our little vacation.

My stay at the Little Big House was an absolutely wonderful treat after driving cross country from California. The apartment is clean, bright, comfortable and quiet. Andrea is warm, welcoming, and very respectful of privacy. The location is fantastic -- very close to downtown and nearby natural grocery store Greenlife. After spending months in Asheville, this space is rare because of it's location, charm, and affordability. I'm already planning my next trip for a winter get away! Thanks Andrea!

Perfect Start to A New Year
January 5, 2010
We wanted to do something new for New Year's, so I found this lovely, quaint dwelling in the middle of Asheville. I read previous reviews and booked, to find that the reviews were all true and on point. It's cozy and warm and it even snowed our last day. One word for that: BEAUTIFUL! Andrea was great and hospitable and very accomodating. We will definitely be returning this year, probably during warmer times!

Loved staying at the Little-Big House apartment. The apartment is decorated with impeccable taste and attention to detail, with fresh-cut flowers throughout. Great location so close to downtown Asheville, but still in a neighborhood full of nature. When showing pictures of my vacation to friends, the Little-Big House invariably stands out - it made my first visit to Asheville a special week to remember! Thanks!
