unfortunately our plans for the reunion changed and we will not be staying at Oakland Cottage again this fall [we have only good things to say about our stay a couple of years ago.......so we were looking forward to coming again] Rest assured it is still on our radar for future reunions! thanks

Very "homey" and comfortable. Hospitality was warm and much advice about Asheville is available. Delicious breakfast. Accomodations suitable for families.

My family of 15 rented out Oakland Cottage for 5 days. The house was clean and had the charm associated with a 100-year-old house. Indoor and outdoor games were available and the kitchen was stocked with every utensil we needed. Two refrigerators were available for us to use as well as a huge pantry to store our food, so that was very convenient. Two rooms had full-size beds (which took some getting used to for 2 couples) while the others had queens and 1 had a king. As is typical of older homes, it wasn't easy to comfortably control the heat both upstairs and down and the showers' temperature varied dramatically. Also, the shower pressure in a few of the bathrooms wasn't what you get in newer homes.
