Description of the Asheville vacation cabin rental

Thank you for your interest in Leicester House. This authentic cedar log home is just 12 minutes from downtown Asheville on a mountain top with views that exceed 50 miles. Nestled in the woods and perched on a mountain, Leicester House offers unobstructed views of the Newfound River valley and a succession of mountainous ridges extending as far as you can see.

Leicester House is a completely modern yet rustic 3-bedroom, 2-bath cedar log home sitting on over 8 acres of undeveloped, wooded land filled with rhododendrons and a variety of deciduous trees. Although the house was only first built in 1996, a full reconstruction has just been completed from new hardwood floors to glistening sky lights. There is nothing in Leicester House that is not new and in perfect condition.

The house is premium in its location, its setting, and its amenities which include:

+ Completely modern and equipped kitchen with large side-by-side refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, lots of cupboard and counter space, and stocked with dishes, glasses, silverware, cookware and all types of kitchen gadgets

+ Dining area that seats 6 very comfortably

+ Two bedrooms on the main floor, sharing a full bath with tub/shower; the other bedroom is a full loft with skylights and its own private full bath with shower

+ 1,400 square feet of living space

+ Beautiful hardwood floors in kitchen, dining and living rooms

+ Fresh clean and comfortable Berber carpet in the bedrooms

+ Warm tile in the bathrooms

+ Gas fireplace with variable speed, circulating blower that easily heats the open floorplan of Leicester House

+ Entertainment center with CD/DVD player, 7.1 in-wall surround sound, and digital, high-definition DLP television

+ Large windows that provide ambient light and beautiful views

+ Wraparound front and side deck where you can relax in the sun, gaze out over the mountains and valleys, and listen to the year-round stream gurgle by

+ Outdoor 6-person hot tub with 50-mile views

+ Separate and secluded back deck that looks into a forest of rhododendrons

+ Gas grill on the back deck for grilling out

+ Full size washer and dryer in a separate utility room off the kitchen, complete with lots of pantry storage space

+ Central heat and air conditioning, although air conditioning is rarely needed because Leicester House sits at a refreshing 3,000 feet in altitude

+ Ceiling fans with remote control

Leicester House is a truly beautiful and serene place. It is completely modern in all of its appurtenances but rustic in its serene and captivating setting. This home is top of the line. Like everyone who visits, I'm certain that you too will enjoy Leicester House.

amazingly beautiful home, October 26, 2006
By A renter (Boston, MA)
it can be a gamble finding the perfect getaway but the leicester house is a safe bet - the house is beautiful and exceeded our expectations in every way. we sipped tea in the mornings on the deck watching the sun lift the fog from the mountains, comfortably made many meals in the kitchen, and capped each evening off by relaxing in the hot tub. you might not even want to LEAVE the house but when you do there is plenty to see and do in the area.

 Great Location, October 11, 2006
By A renter (Austin, TX)
I took my wife to the Leicester House for our first anniversary. It was perfect. It's secluded enough for privacy but close enough to Ashville that we could get downtown for dinner easily.

 What a weekend!, September 21, 2006
By Michele (Chicago, IL)
We traveled from far and wide to get together for a girls weekend and we were so thrilled with Leicester House! Being a Chef I loved cooking in the kitchen for my friends. I had plenty of great kitchen utensils and equipment to work with. They thought of everything. The views were spectacular and the hot tub amazing. The accomadations were also top notch. The Asheville area is so great to explore and there are many great restaurants as well. We will definately be back for an annual event! What a great find!

 Couldn't Be Better, August 13, 2006
By McLean Jordan (Miami, FL)
You will not regret a stay at Leicester House. Convenient to everything Asheville and the surrounding North Carolina mountains offers, this home is a perfect home-base for a mountain vacation. The home itself is gorgeous, very clean, and filled with every modern convenience imaginable. The owner also graciously leaves guests information about local attractions and activities, making the touring the area a breeze. You will not find a better way to enjoy the pure mountain air, incredible views, and complete relaxation this home offers. Just be ready for a steep drive up to your mountain retreat!

 Mountain Getaway, July 26, 2006
By A renter (Flemington, NJ)
Our family of six (3 generations) spent the first week in July at the Leicester House. The weather was a welcome relief from the sultry heat of N.J. and Florida, where we're from. The place was better than we could have imagined - spotless and comfortable. Unbelievable view of the Smokies. The ride to the top where the house is, was a bit daunting, coming from flat states. You really feel like you're getting away from it all.

Blue Ridge Beauty, July 11, 2006
By Melanie Bush (Austin, Texas)
Our time at Leicester House was perfect. It is the ideal place for anyone seeking peace and quiet, relaxation, and the beauty of the Blue Ridge. The house is immaculate, the views are amazing, the amenities are luxurious, and the proximity to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Asheville, and the Great Smokies is ridiculously convenient. Only a short drive from Asheville, we were able to spend the day in town or drive in for dinner, but still retreat to our mountain haven. The full kitchen and grill, coupled with a convenient grocery, made it easy to feel at home. We ate most meals on the deck, with views for miles, and took dips in the hot tub after hours of hiking. The house is at the very top of a ridge, private and peaceful, and it's so quiet you can hear waterfalls outside the windows while you sleep. We had a wonderful time during our stay at Leicester House. It exceeded our expectations, and we look forward to returning every year.
