Great Place At A Great Price

We stayed at this home over Thanksgiving Holidays. Everything we needed to cook Thanksgiving Dinner was in the kitchen. We had five staying in this rental but other family from Asheville visiting for the day. There were 4 bedrooms so plenty of room to spread out. This rental would make a great base for travelling around western North Carolina. It's not far off a main highway and 10 minutes from the interstate. The only thing I wish they had in the rental is a washer & dryer. Otherwise, this is a really great rental at a really great price.

Comfortable and Unique experience

Well kept and uniquely decorated house. We were welcomed by the owner of the property even on our arrival at the late hour. I was celebrating my mom's 60th birthday in Asheville and she was delighted to stay with us at this hideway surrounded by beautiful mountains. The living area, kitchen, dining and bedrooms are spacious. My son had a blast here. We would definitely consider coming back on our next trip to Asheville.

Perfect Family Gathering Place!

This was the perfect place for our family gathering. We loved spending time on the screened in deck! We enjoyed breakfast there, as well as grilling out for dinner. There was plenty of room for 7 adults. We were within easy driving distance of Ashville, the Biltmore estate, and restaurants. It was very homey and comfortable. Try to get there before dark as it was a little the first time!

Great views, most if not all conveniences of home without bringing it with you, Steve and family very friendly and helpful, two playful dogs, woods to roam, fairly secluded but close to anything you need, beds not very comfortable but nothing's like your own!, directv and wireless very convenient, ...great price for what you get (especially to comparable houses/cabins for rent, and especially for large groups...we only had 4 adults and 1 toddler and had plenty of room)...candler is a beautiful area and very close to blue ridge parkway...151 that takes you to blue ridge is a beautiful road...thanks Steve and family for the vist...hopefully we'll be back again

Steve was a wonderful host, he makes sure you have everything that you need and that you feel right at home. He supplies tons of informations on fun things to do while exploring the area so you don't even have to waste time looking up what you are going to do before you leave for vacation. Just pack up and go! The house is very clean and has plenty of room. If my friends had not wanted to go out and explore Asheville, I would have hung out around the property the whole time! A true country getaway and wonderful hosts! A high recommend for those looking for a laid back stay in Western North Carolina!

We enjoy our August 2011 vacation very much. Love the view and beauty of the blue mountains, the singing of the birds in the morning and watching the fire-flies at night! A great place to visit and relax, the accommodation was excellent! Way to go Mr. Plemmons!

We had a wonderful stay. The house was nice and the view was amazing. It was close to our family's house which was very convenient. It was clean and there was a lot of room. The home was set back on a nice lot that had plenty of room for kids to play. We enjoyed dining on the screened in porch. The owner Steve P was very nice and accommodating. We would recommend this rental to all. We cannot wait to come back and stay again.

Delightful New Year's Stay

I highly recommend this property. I stayed for three nights during New Years and had a wonderful experience. The property was easy to access. Although there was no snow during our visit, I believe that the property would have been easy to get to regardless. The property was immaculate and I enjoyed their well-stocked kitchen and huge gas grill (we enjoy cooking a great deal). The covered patio was large and the fire pit in the back yard proved to be a perfect way to bring in the new year. The house was very comfortable, and the WiFi and DirectTV were incredibly convenient. The check-in and check-out process was very no nonsense. The owner's were very respectful of our privacy while being very welcoming. During our stay, we saw a movie and had dinner in Asheville (which was a surprisingly metropolitan city). We also drove along the Blue Ridge Parkway and took in the sights. We visited Cherokee, NC and toured the museums there. On our way home, we visited Grandfather Mountain and took a walk on the "Mile High Swinging Bridge." We learned of all these sites from the collection of brochures the owner's conveniently have collected and saved for tenants. My only suggestion is to bring your own pillows since the ones provided are plastic, if that makes sense. The beds are comfortable and the place stayed warm. A+ vacation experience. I hope to return in the future.

We felt lucky to find a house large enough to hold friends and family in town for a wedding at a reasonable price! The house had everything we needed, and Steve was helpful and fair. The view from the porch is beautiful, and you definitely feel way out in the country - but are only about 15 minutes from Asheville.
