Description of the Asheville vacation guesthouse rental

This unique, historical home was built by Harvey Firestone, Jr. in 1929 with additional extensions in 1979. It has also been home to a state senator and governor. Your living room, furnished with beautiful antiques, is part of the original structure with the bedroom and handicapped accessible bathroom adjacent. The bedroom overlooks a patio with and garden fountain beckoning you deeper into the backyard with fairy walk and organic garden.
NO Smoking within 100 feet of the property.

Area Information

The historic Firestone Home is a short walk to the bus line, and two blocks from a large park with seasonal outdoor swimming, tennis courts, and covered pavilion picnicking.

A short drive to the main streets of West Asheville with library, churches, shopping, and entertainment. Convenient to everything Asheville has to offer, but located in a stately, side walked residential area. Let the historic Firestone Home be your luxurious home away from home!

Deposits: Nightly rates are based on double occupancy only. Half of the total fee is due upon booking and remains as the non-refundable deposit. Deposits are not refundable up to 30 days prior to stay. An extra deposit is required for all pets based on type of pet. (Pets are only allowed at owners prior approval, accept for medical reasons only). There is no smoking on the property. After asked once, guests will be asked to leave without being refunded.

Issac's Cabin 1-4 Dec 2012

Issac's cabin at Cold Mt was exactly the setting I had envisioned for a reunion with my daughter and husband, hike the mountains and tour the Biltmore. The cabin was very well equipped, clean and extremely cozy not to mention the hot tub and firepit outdoors. We had a fabulous experience and appreciate the attention to detail in offering this rental facility to travelers like myself. Happy Holidays!

home away from home in West Asheville

I felt I was lucky to stumble upon this lovely rental property which we found to be a great alternative to a hotel room, or even a B&B. We had researched both of those types of things at first but when I saw the pictures of the Firestone House I knew this was meant to be. Everything was great from the location to the amenties, with the exception of the kitchenette lacking a stove top for cooking. You can only do so much with a microwave and had to wash your dishes in the bathroom sink. A tiny inconvenience for the oversized suite. Each day of our vacation which was from March 31 to April 6 was very full but as the late afternoon approached I'd say to my husband "are you ready to go home?" because that is what it felt like. I also felt the rental fee was reasonable - another reason we chose this particular property. The owner also was very thorough and wanted to make sure our every need was met. I would recommend this vacation rental to my friends and would stay there again.

The suite is completely private with most of the amenities of a small apartment. It is tastefully furnished and VERY clean. Additionally, it is conveniently located in a quiet community just south of downtown Asheville. I would stay again.

This location is a nice, quiet neighborhood, easier to locate than I thought; Asheville is not a planned city so it's sometimes a challenge getting around. The house was exceptionally clean and the temporpedic bed was very comfortable. The sitting area that can sleep 1-2 people has a door that separates it from the bedroom so there is some privacy if two couples wanted to stay there. I definitely recommend this house; much better than a hotel.

Feb. 14, 2009 Valentine's Weekend. Scott and I enjoyed our stay. Your house was as beautiful in person as we hoped. Your thoughtfulness as a hostess was easily noticed and appreciated. The fresh roses, sparkling juice, and small touches like Andes mints with bedside water glasses, the choices of tea and coffee and the complimentary waters were all wonderful personal touches. We will definitely stay again anytime we come back to Asheville. It was certainly a home away from home . P.S. Your home was immaculately clean! Not a speck of dust Anywhere! We will definitely recommend to our friends in TN.
