THE VILLA
Are you looking for a self-catering and romantic holiday rental that offers the best of both worlds, to be close to everything Athens has to offer and still away from the bustle of the city? Do you want an elegant peaceful holiday retreat with the most incredible views of the Aegean coast line and the islands, while enjoying one of the most stunning Greek vacation villas you can find? Do you want the comforts of your home, air-conditioning, central heating, WiFi Internet access, unlimited free International calling, washer and dryer? You have come to the right place! Stargazer Villa!
Are there two of you or six? We can accommodate you.
Our villa has three main floors, of which the first floor is theguest house (ask us about the penthouse part of the villa). It is completely self contained, with its private entrances (3) and verandas (2). The guest house has 150sq m (about 1600sq feet) of living space, with two bedrooms and two baths, a loft, two private verandas and private gas BBQ.
The living room, dining room and kitchen areas form a large open space, flowing easily from the kitchen with the marble pass-through to the dining room with the uninhibited view of the Aegean from the 4 oversize living room windows. Large open spaces of our living room are adorned with three stucco veneziano Doric columns, hidden lighting and marble/tiled flooring. Windows overlooking the islands will entice you to spend many an hour on the wide tiled verandas or the living room. On a clear day one can see as far as Andros, Kea, Evia and several uninhabited islands.
The master bedroom has a queen sized bed, the second bedroom includes a loft (perfect for kids and young adults) and a total of one double bed and two single beds (loft).
THE AREA
Stargazer Villa is one of the most impressive private Greek Vacation Villas located in a 'gated" community of THEMIS by the Schinias environmental Park (the only one in Greece). Located within 50km from down town Athens, it overlooks the plain of Marathon and the most pristine beach of Greece, Schinias. The 'start' of Marathon is just a 10 minute drive from our home, access to the port of Rafina where you can pick up the boat for Myconos is just 20-30 minutes away. Corinth, Mycenae, Delphi and many other great places are within an easy day's excursion.
Only a few minutes down the hill from our villa, you can enjoy delightful swims, snorkeling, scuba diving, or diving off the rocky coast in the crystal clear waters of the Aegean Sea. This rocky untouched coast is one of the best kept secrets in Greece and it is part of our community, Themis. The water here is immediately about three meters deep. Diving off the rocks is very popular among the young and not so young! The fish and other marine life are delightful to watch while snorkeling. The rocky coastline abounds with secluded spots perfect for sunbathing in privacy.
Small children love Schinias Beach, one of the most popular in the Athens area. Unlike many beaches in Greece, it is a sand beach. The water is clean, clear, and protected from large waves and sea currents. You can walk a long way before the water comes up to your waist, about a couple hundred meters for an adult. The kids love it! It is perfect for toddlers. They learn how to swim without being afraid of the water, by playing and wading in and out.
There are many little restaurants and sports places on the beach as well as plenty of night life within 5 minutes from our community.

PROFFESSIONAL DRIVER AND PRIVATE TOURS:
Do you want to see the sites without having to battle the locals for the road? Do you want to enjoy the country side and leave the driving to us? We can provide an English speaking professional driver who can use his own taxi service or drive your rental car which ever is most appropriate. He can pick you up from the airport and escort you to the villa. He can recommend many special daily excursions tailored to your needs. From visiting Delphi, Athens day and night, Corinth, Mycenae, trekking in Evia and many more. He knows his country and history like the 'back of his hand and his prices are unbeatable!

- Required Stay: flexible
- Deposits: To firmly book the villa a 25% non refundable down payment is required. The rest of the payment is due 45 days before arrival. There is a 200 Euro security deposit due on arrival and is returned on the day of departure, baring any charges.
A contact will be generated upon receipt of the deposit, for review and approval. Signature is required.
- Other Fees: Rates based on two bedrooms and two baths, up to 6 guests.

We had an wonderful time at the Stargazer, and Despina and Stavros were AMAZING hosts! The view is even better than the pictures, the local beach and the tavernas were a welcome break from sightseeing in Athens, and the lower guest house space is huge and homey. I definitely recommend renting a car for future guests so that you can get around easily (which we had) and also hiring their neighbor (also named Stavros) for a private tour up to Delphi! It couldn't have been a better field trip for our family or euros well spent. Cape Sunion was also an easy hour or so from the Stargazer, which we found with the help of Stavros' directions on our own. I hope we can come back some day soon. You could spend months at the Stargazer and never get tired of the sights! I would love to stay in the upper penthouse next time...
