Description of the Atlanta vacation villa rental
This 4 bedroom, 2.5 bath, 8 room villa is centrally located on the main boulevard between Atlanta and Decatur across the street from Deepdene Park. It was featured in the Druid Hills Tour of Homes in 2004.
Relax in the back yard patio and watch the fire flies at night with a view of a lovely English garden and gazebo.
The house has a stereo with sound speakers throughout the house and is wired for DSL internet access throughout the house as well as wireless internet access.
The mahogany lined library adjoins the master bedroom with walk in closet and adjoining master bathroom.
There are a total of four bedrooms and a library and sun room, both with sleeper sofas, that sleep 12 people with 2.5 bathrooms, sun room, living room,
dining room, and gourmet kitchen with gas range and two stoves, refrigerator, and bar refrigerator. Extra fees for parties over 8 in main house.
There is a 2 BR cottage on the property with bath and kitchen and separate porch that sleeps 5, add $100 per night plus tax to use the cottage. Therefore total capacity of the property is 17.
There is room for two cars parking in driveway and unlimited parking on the street.
Area Information
directly to downtown Atlanta (5 miles away) with the CNN Center, Centennial Olympic Park, Aquarium (largest in the world), Convention Center, AmericasMart, and World of Coke.
Walk one mile to Candler Park with public pool and Golf Course, and one mile to Fernbank Museum of Natural Science,
and half a mile to the Fernbank Planetarium and Fernbank Forest. Ride bicycles on the PATH bike trail
that passes in front of the house. 18 hole championship Bobby Jones Golf Course is 3 miles away.
Buckhead is 8 miles away. Midtown Atlanta is 3 miles away with restaurants and bars and the High Museum of Art which is a must see.
Intown neighborhoods are close by, including Virginia Highland (2 miles) and Little Five Points (2 miles)
with the nationally designated historic neighborhood of Inman Park. Multiple churches, synagogues, and other places of worship are within walking distance. Emory University, Emory Hospital, and the CDC are 1.5 miles away.

Son's Wedding second home

Our son was married in Atlanta this month. I rented this beautiful spacious home last January for 4 nights around the rehearsal, wedding, and the October weekend after the wedding. We had 9 people staying at the home, all upstairs in the 4 bedrooms and library sofa bed and two baths. We also entertained all the visiting family and friends for meals and football games on the big screen tv, and walks in the parks and sitting on the beautiful patio and lawn. Several family members took Marta and walked to the house and we all used the Checker cab company to go to and from the events very reasonably. I have thanked the owner, Doug, as much as I can for the wonderful time. We had everything that we needed and more. Every guest expressed surprise and pleasure at the amazing space in which we had to celebrate our only son's wedding and visit.

This is the perfect vacation home in Atlanta. The house is beautiful , spacious, and spotless. The dining room is amazingly beautiful with lots of windows looking into the lovely garden. There is so much refined elegance in this house that anyone who is interested in older homes would fall in love with it immediately.The kitchen is up to-date and very well-equipped. The master suite is unbelievable. The photos do not really show how nice this house is.
It is very convenient to MARTA (Atlanta's rapid transit), and grocery stores. The neighborhood is gorgeous, especially in spring.
The owner is very accommodating and responds quickly to emails.
Too bad that it is booked for Thanksgiving and Xmas already or else we'll be back. We cannot wait to rent it again.

Just wanted to thank you for renting us your beautiful home. We had a wonderful time, ice and all! We mastered the Marta and used it all week to get to the show. I have to say I had forgotten what adding humidity to cold weather can feel like. There is definitely a lot more laughing and "bonding" sharing a house than if all 5 of us had gone off to our separate hotel rooms every night. That was probably the best part.

The description of this home downplayed the beauty of this 1920s gem which has been completely restored/updated and is well maintained by the owners. It is located in an upscale neighborhood where we enjoyed walking and looking at the homes. We also enjoyed lunch in nearby Decatur at Ted Montana's and strolled the Farmer's Market where we purchased hard to find delicacies. We had chosen two restaurants for dinner in the town of Roswell - Relish (which we saw on the Food Network) and Sugo. Both were excellent. Would have liked to have tried more of the owner recommended places but were only in town for the weekend to meet our son who drove down from Ft. Bragg. He enjoyed the Atlanta Aquarium and the zoo, which werenerby. I highly recommend this property for those who have discerning tastes but want to be near attractions. The owner, Doug, was very accomodating. If I return to the Atlanta area, I would definitely choose to stay here again.
