We stayed out in West Austin, TX, on the river in the smaller of the two houses located at 3808 Stevenson and it was fantastic. We were there for SXSW and while the house was 3 miles from downtown, this really didn't pose a problem as it was easy to get to and quiet once we left downtown. At $1800 for the week, total, for four people (each with a bed/pull out), two bathrooms, to living areas and a patio - this was far less expensive than any hotel and way more comfortable than shoving four grown adults into one hotel room. The property was well outfitted, clean and the owners were very hands off. The neighborhood was great, near Oyster Landing, Hula Hut and Mozart's. Not far from Magnolia (open 24 hours), grocery and gas but you felt really removed. Close and easy access to highways and downtown. I would definitely stay there again and one of the house guests who was unsure about staying outside of downtown as he had a 6 prior SXSW said on the last day "Great call on the house!"
