Family fun in the sun

August 15, 2012

My family and I were extremely pleased when we finally made it to the house.(house is hard to find when arriving for the 1st time) The house was extremely inviting for all age groups. We couldn't have been more pleased with all of the amenities that were offered.:-) A definite top of the list home away from home. My kids were a little freaked out by all the huge bugs Texas has to offer, but was well worth the bonding experience between them and their cousins. From dawn until dusk there was something to do or see like fishing, kayaking, swimming, playing a game of ping pong, sunbathing, barbequing or just taking a little siesta. I would and will definitely recommend this home to any and all who would like to stay in the Austin Texas area. They are only 15 minutes from a Super Walmart, and only seconds away from serenity!!

Excellent

We have rented this home twice now and both times had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back. The owners are awesome and are great people. My whole family left with plenty of fun memories to talk about.

Decent place but poor management

August 20, 2010

The contact person an the site stated that the owners name is Kristin but I think she only manages the property. I tried to contact her several times by phone and email a few weeks before our rental date but she never responded. I actually thought I was conned. I just wanted to ask her a few questions about certain amenities on the property. The only emails I get from her were contract papers and a Paypal billing. The day before our reservation, she finally called but only to tell me they are fixing the AC and they wouldn't finish until 8pm on the day of our arrival. When we arrived at the property, we saw the crew still working as anticipated so we tried not to let that ruin out trip. They did finally finished around 8pm but their was water dripping from the living room ceiling the next morning. I had to call Kristin so she can get the AC repair guys out to look at the problem. The guy adjusted the water collection pan in the attic which fixed the leak. The washer also broke. On top of that, we had to spend $20 to refill the propane tank. We couldn't swim as much because there were lots of river weed in the river. I saw a company that was cleaning up these weed for surrounding properties but I guess management didn't want to spend money on that service. Kristin did take off $100 dollars from the rental but I paid $375/day so that wasn't worth all the hassles we went through. I tried to call her but she never returned my calls. I hope you have a better experience

Nice location, but

August 17, 2010

little owner involvement in property management, so many little things are lacking in maintenance. Bigger issues: washer was broken when we arrived on Sunday, property manager was not able to get it replaced during our 7 day stay. Clean towels and sheets (advertised as provided) from the previous renters who departed on Sunday did not arrive back at the house until Wednesday. Nothing but top sheets on the bed until then. Nice location, great lake, we had fun,- but no clean clothes or towels certainly put a damper on trip.

House on the Lake that Rocks

August 3, 2010

Plenty of room, slept 7 comfortably. And had no problem with 7 people sharing two bathrooms. Plenty of seating and room for entertaining. Kid friendly. House came fully stocked with towels, sheets, blankets, fans, kitchen supplies and out door lake fun. Great location, 15 minutes from the nearest H-E-B (grocery store), great restaurants near by less than 10 minutes (Oasis and Steiner Ranch Steakhouse) and 8 minutes form the University of Texas Golf Club. Over all fun, great and relaxing place to stay.

Lake Austin fun

September 8, 2009

Great place for a relaxing weekend. Lake Austin is just beautiful and it's always great watching the boats and boarders. All the sleeping is upstairs, airconditioned and very comfortable. Downstairs is unairconditioned but still very nice and appropriate for the open porch and closeness to the dock and lake. Very nice.

Relaxing experience

July 20, 2009

We had a great time. It is a beautiful house and was amazed at all of the amenities provided. Needed more wascloths, but plenty of towels. Need some tips on catching fish though. Used just about everything for bait, but fish weren't taking it. We saw huge fish - catfish and bass in the water, but they ignored the bait. Other than that, we had a great time!! See you next year.

waterfront on Lake Austin #37878

July 8, 2009

We somewhat enjoyed our stay. We had a nice view of the lake from our bedroom and livingroom. The kitchen was nicely furnished. The gameroom was nice but the furniture and all throw rugs were soiled. The washer and dryer had not been cleaned so I did not use those. And the floors in that area, and where the hot water heater is housed were very dirty. But all floors downstairs needed a good cleaning. When we arrived at the property, the front yard was badly in need of care. There was trash all over. The gas grill had trash around it. At the opposite end of the porch was a petition of some sort with trash stored behind it. These are safe havens for serpents to hide. The kitchen window was in bad need of cleaning. If these improvements were made, this would be a wonderful place for vacatoiners.

Austin Vacation

Overall the house was great for a group of 7-9 people. Plenty of room. The boat lift could be updated to accommodate a a larger more current boat. Other than that it was great.

Booking

May 26, 2009

We had talked with the owner of this property and confirmed that it was avaliable the weekend that we wanted. She said to send our credit card number via email. After talking to her on the phone we emailed and asked if we could send a check because we did not want to send our cc number via email. She waited days to respond to the email and then told us she had booked the property to someone else. She said she had something next door, of course it only sleeps 6 people as opposed to this property. Now we are scrambling to find something for our vacation. I just think it was a little shady and unprofessional.

Great place

March 30, 2009

We had a great time at this place. Plenty of outdoor activities as well as indoor games. Plenty of space. We had 10 adults and never felt cramped. The house is tucked away from the big city right on the water and the veiw is beautiful, while still being close enough to all to austin to enjoy what the city has to offer you. Nothing negative to say about the house.

Nostalgic River Fun

March 20, 2009

Comfortable house at a great quiet location on he water. We paddled up and down the lake/river, explored the nature preserve and waterfall, grilled our meals and enjoyed the gameroom. Plus --- the high school and college aged among us discovered the turntable and wonderful collection of vinyl!!

Vacation

December 3, 2008

The home was located in a wonderful spot and was very comfortable. We did cook in most nights and several of the basic need pans (cookie sheet, 13x9 baking dish) were not available. We thought these were pretty basic and maybe should be added to the kitchen. You will not be disappointed with the house or the location.
