Our 4d/3n stay was a wonderful experience for our 2 young boys. The house was comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The owners were exceptional to deal with. I would highly recommend, and certainly consider for another get-away.

BEST vacation ever

After weeks of internet searching to find a match for my ideal fall vacation with my son, I booked a stay here, based solely on the pictures and descriptions, . When we arrived, I was stunned by the actual beauty of the surroundings! And entering the Lake House felt like being drawn into my favorite dream. Everything was totally inviting and comfortable to me -- like being home. During our 4-day stay, I kept the same peaceful feeling whether inside this simply beautiful house that had everything we could possibly need, or being on the screened-in porch or down on the dock with breathtaking views. I've never experienced anything like this. A trail hike in the Uwharrie Forest around Badin Lake was incredibly fun, as was dining at the nearby family restaurant with the locals. [Kay & Russ provided lots of maps and info about the area.] I came back from vacation so renewed, I was told I looked 10 years younger! The only vacation that could ever come close to being this great again, would be returning here for another season.

What an absolutely fabulous lake house weekend! This charming home couldn't have been more perfect. Great curb appeal, charming décor, all the amenities and incredible views of Badin Lake. We spent hours relaxing on the screened in porch, fishing from the dock, cooking, grilling and just enjoying life. Thank you Kay and Russ for a special weekend. We will be back again soon!
Great location! We hope to return!

Kay, Thank you so much for letting us rent your lake house. It was better in person then we could have imagined from the photos. A great spot to get away and relax. All the outdoor seating (screened in porch, patio under the porch, hammocks, firepit, and covered dock!) was amazing. We spent our days out on the dock and our nights taking in the view from the porch. We were able to do some fishing right from the dock and it was easy access in and out of the water for a quick dip to cool off. We look forward to renting again in the future. Thanks again!

Peace on the lake
March 30, 2010
My friend and I rented this lovely lake house as the trees and flowers were just beginning to bloom in spring. The house is very nicely furnished and extremely comfortable. As it was still chilly in the mornings we did not really partake in the water sports that would be available in the summer. However we did have one nice day sitting on the dock in the sun. If I have any criticism it would be that it's almost too peaceful. But, if you are looking for a getaway place with alot of great amenities, this is the place. I definately would go back again!
Beautiful Badin Lake vacation

We walked in and a sense of peace settled over us. The view is amazing, the way the house is decorated and the ease in which we were able to rent the house was beyond compare. We have recommended this house to all of our friends. We plan to come back in September and possibly October. The dock had a shaded area and a sunny area which was awesome. Having a canoe for our own personal use, anytime we wanted was a boon! I cannot say enough about this home or our visit. It was truly memorable. Many thanks for allowing us to use your home.

What a great getaway! The view is of undeveloped parts of Uwharrie national forest. There are empty lots on both sides so from the house, you cannot see any other homes. When sitting in the large, beautifully furnished, comfortable screened porch, you feel like you are in a tree house with trees and birds on two sides while looking at a lake with no houses in view. The entire house is extremely well done in all ways - beautiful, comfortable, homey with great extra touches. There are numerous places to sit, hammocks, a nice grill, very comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms, very well equipped kitchen, extremely clean and well maintained. The yerd and dock are equally pretty and inviting. To top all of this off, Kay was great, professional, efficient, friendly, and welcoming. You can tell she wants this to be a good experience for you. We definetly plan to return.

I really enjoyed staying in your lake house over the weekend. The house is immaculate and beautiful. I have been fishing Badin lake for over 20 years and
I believe your house has the best views on the whole lake. It is very modern and equipped with all the features that give comfort to the guests, it has a beautiful dock And deck. I will definitely rent from you again this spring and summer and will recommend it to people I know in Bank of America and Transamerica Reinsurance. Not to mention also that the beds and pillows are really comfortable. Thanks again Sam

This was our second trip to this wonderful lake getaway, and we will be planning many more. Our family loves to fish, swim, hike and relax together and this rental house is the perfect location to do all of those things. The owners made sure to provide everything we needed to enjoy the house during our stay. The house is decorated beautifully both inside and out. Whether on the dock, the patio, or the enclosed porch, the view is beautiful and we felt right at home. It is located close to Uwharrie trails, Morrow Mountain State Park, antique shopping, and even a drive-in theater. We highly recommend this home for anyone looking to enjoy a peaceful lake vacation. Thanks a million!!

The photos did not do this property justice. It was so much better! The view was absolutely gorgeous. The house was clean and perfect for a family to relax and enjoy each other. The view was beautiful and the yard and dock were great. Kay and Ross were both so nice and very helpful in getting our vacation organized. We had so much fun and we look forward to going again very soon!

This house is a Gem! Excellent location, one of the best views of the lake with exceptional bird watching. The house was immaculate and contained all the essentials you would need. We just showed up with our suitcases. The owners were so easy to deal with from our first inquiry right through check out, and Kay left wonderful treats for our teen-age girls to enjoy. We spent alot of time on the dock swimming, canoeing, and just relaxing and watching boats, egrets, herons, and osprey go by. I have rented a lot of properties for vacation in the last 20 years, and this whole experience with the Myers family and their beautiful lake home was by far the best experience I have ever had!

"My husband and I came here for our first time away, just the two of us, since the birth of our son 1.5 years ago! We needed the getaway and this was the perfect spot! We weren't looking to do anything "touristy", just relax! A beautiful and meticulously clean home with gorgeous views was what we got! My husband loved the fishing off the dock, we even did some fishing at night. We enjoyed the canoe and just relaxing/reading on the dock; hammock or screen porch. We enjoyed a couple dinners out at some local places, my husband especially liked the catfish dinner at Badin Lake Restaurant! The grill at the house made it easy to stay put and make dinner, too! Kay and Russ were easy to work with and warmly welcomed us. The house had everything we needed to make our stay easy and enjoyable. Everything was just as stated on the site, even better! We look forward to coming back soon! "

This was our first experience renting a home - and it was FABULOUS! The house was even more adorable than the pictures. The views are by far the best on Badin Lake, open and expansive. The house was clean, wonderfully decorated and most importantly...warm and inviting. We truly felt at home.
We came with 3 children under 10, and they had a blast. The swam in the lake all day, every day. They loved it.
Working with Kay was a pleasure. She even had special treats for my kids upon our arrival! We are already trying to plan our getaway for the 2010 summer. We can't wait to return.
