Description of the Bagni di Lucca vacation home rental
Sterpilla is a carefully renovated farm in Tuscany with 80 acres of land, with garden and a very large overflow salt-water pool.
The farm offers privacy and magnificent views of the meadows , forests and mountains.
Through the land of Sterpilla runs the ancient Roman road "Via Francigena", the pilgrim route connecting Canterbury in England with Rome. In the forest of Sterpilla you will still find parts of the old Roman pavement.
The closest towns are Villafranca and the medieval town of Bagnone.
This is the part of Tuscany referred to as Lunigiana (land of the moon). It is not yet overrun by tourism. Here you will still find small restaurants without printed menues where you are offered a choice of Italian cuisine; a 3 course dinner with local wine, coffee and for only 20 Euros per person.
The house in Sterpilla is comfortable with 5 bedrooms, big kitchen, large taverna, sitting room and 2 bathrooms. Comfortably furnished with quality interior.
Area Description
Sterpilla is situated 4 km from Villafranca, 35 min drive from the beaches of the Italian riviera. Lucca is 45 min away and Pisa will take you about 1 hour depending on traffic.
A bit further away is Florence (1 hour 45 min drive).
If you go north towards Genova you will pass the Cinque Terre; 5 small towns on the cost connected by a pedestrian road running along the cliffs overlooking the ocean.
