Description of the Baldwin vacation cottage rental

The cottage is located on a ridge overlooking Big Star Lake. The view is gorgeous. Depending on the time of day and the time of year you will see anything from Eagles swooping over the lake, to a deer taking a swim; you will also see the most varied lake fun you can imagine. The cottage has a full kitchen and dining area, two bedrooms, one bath, a living room and an enclosed sun porch. It has a wonderful deck to watch the sun rise, sun set and all the lake play you can take in.

The cottage is placed on a paved road. There is plenty of parking and yard space for your outdoor times. Take advantage of the paved road and enjoy your bicycle or a walk.

Lake access requires the use of a double length flight of stairs. The lake can be extremely busy or very calm. The lake allows all forms of water sports and quiet time for those who want to fish or who enjoy watching the occasional loon and other more common lake wild life.

Area Information

The cottage is near Baldwin, but its real location is Big Star Lake. It is within a few miles of a Marquette trails a first class golf course. The village of Baldwin provides groceries, restaurants, and some interesting small shops. Near by towns of Ludington, Reed City and Pentwater are worth exploring. Traverse City is easily reached by car in just over an hou.

The golf course is exceptional. We are close to Traverse City and Ludington as well as many other small towns along Lake Michigan. There is a casino as well as shopping and many types of restaurants and entertainment in nearby towns.

The cottage was excellent. Just what we expected. Very clean and had air conditioning. The only drawback that was beyond the owners control was the condition of the lake bottom. This summer was so hot that the alge and seaweed made our area unswimable. We would return, as the location and atmosphere was perfect. I should also mention the fun general store that was within walking distance that sold the best icecream. Perfect for the heat.

The cottage was perfect , especially since we were traveling with my elderly mother. The bathroom was huge and allowed plenty of room for placement of all our personal hygiene needs. The living areas were much larger than expected as well. The owners were wonderful hosts. Home baked muffins awaited our arrival. The view of the lake is spectacular. Can't wait to return for another relaxing get -away!!!

My husband and I were ready for a week of relaxation, reading, campfires, and a place to use as a base for visiting all the fabulous places in this part of our wonderful state. We found it at this lovely cottage and lake. The cottage is comfy and inviting with all you need. Sunsets and sunrises inspiring. Grocery store close by. The owners very helpful. You'll just enjoy the whole area and atmosphere!

Charming, clean, quiet, with a beautiful view of the lake. We enjoyed watching the boating activity, and really appreciated the quiet time on the lake. Have never seen so many red- headed woodpeckers and loons. The owners are really nice, and if you're lucky - Suzanne will bake you muffins.

We rented the cottage for a weekend and had a great time. My wife's two sister's families ended up joining us totaling 6 adults, 5 kids and 2 infants. We brought up our own air mattress and had enough to sleep everyone without any problems. The lake was amazing with its size and sandy beaches. The cottage was bigger than expected and the property was well maintained. We are considering going back again later this fall.

My husband and I stayed here with some friends this July. It is a wonderful cottage with an amazing view of the water and a huge bathroom! The living room is cozy and the bedrooms are of good size as well. We had campfires overlooking the beautiful lake. Neighbors were great too!

This was a great cottage to stay at. Waking up to the beautiful view over Big Star Lake was great. We were able to enjoy the beautiful lake from the dock that is on the property. Can't wait to go back!!!

the view in the morning from the deck was breath taking. For cabin the hot water heater was awsome for 3 of use that took long showers!!! Very quiet!! Planning to go bck again soon!
