Description of the Baldwinsville vacation home rental

Beautiful home on Seneca River, just outside of the quaint Village of Baldwinsville, NY and just 10 minutes to the City of Syracuse. 3 Bedrooms, has beds enough for 8, but plenty of extra room for cots. 1.5 baths, HUGE livingroom, large kitchen with ceramic flooring, new appliances and beautiful stone hearth over the stove. Very sunny breakfast room facing the river for a gorgeous view while you're having your morning coffee. The large yard boasts a boat launch for small watercraft, along with a 30 foot dock. Two level deck with furniture. 100+ ft of river frontage. There is a public boat launch just 5 minutes away. Very close to Cross Lake. Outside firepit. Feels like you're in the middle of nowhere, but you're only 3 miles from the nearest highway.

Area Information

Seneca River has the best fishing in the area. Nearby Coopers' Marina has all of your fishing needs as well as a public boat launch. The Village of Baldwinsville is a quaint area, with restaurants, museums, shops. The Oswego-Oneida Historic District is listed on the New York State Register of Historic Places. The district contains many fine examples of 19th Century architecture including Greek Revival, Federal, and Italianate. Canal Lock #24 ,located in the heart of Baldwinsville, is one of the busiest along the 524-mile Historic Erie Canal System.

Beaver Lake Nature Center is just a mile up the road. 9 miles of groomed hiking trails on 600 acres. Many activities offered including guided walking tours and bird watching.

10 miles to The Great Northern Mall, only 17 miles to Carousel Center for great shopping!

The Fingerlakes Wine Country and the Turning Stone Resort and Casino are also only a short drive away.

Area offers golfing, mini-golf, sightseeing excursions on the rivers, fine restaurants, parks, and much, much more.

Christmas in Baldwinsville

This was a wonderful way to celebrate Christmas with our rather large extended family (20 people). The rental home was large, clean, and comfortable with a wonderful working fireplace. Our grand-kids loved staying with us and going for long walks to see if we could find deer tracks in the snow. The area is very remote and very quiet. We did have quite a bit of snow and the folks 2 doors down had a truck with a snow plow and were kind enough to plow the main dirt road so that we could get out on to the main road. We had a wonderful time and are planning on doing this again.

A lovely, quiet and peaceful space for our wonderful Thanksgiving reunion. Plenty of room for our large gathering. The kitchen was very well stocked with all the amenities (minus an egg beater but I just happened to have brought one) :):) When I called Carla to ask if there was a large enough cutting board for the turkey she informed it was something the house probably needed and graciously had one available upon arrival. Unexpected snow was a lovely view overlooking the river with early morning coffee. All of us were so pleased to have found this fabulous home away from our homes. It will be a memorable Thanksgiving. Thank you!!

Off The Beaten Path!

July 2, 2012

First things first, the house was as advertised when it comes to sleeping 8 (4 adults, 4 teenagers), which we did somewhat comfortably. I say somewhat due to 1 smallish bed and the need to bring our own air-mattress. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils and the gas grill worked great. The deck was also very enjoyable in the AM but as to be expected next to a river the bugs came out in force in the PM. As for that river, it yielded quite a few fish from the dock but is not swim ready (we were in town for a triathlon). We also got to bring our dog on the trip and she loved the property and surrounding area, made better by the lack of any traffic. The traffic is non-existent thanks to the house being at the end of a dirt/gravel road, so plan to hit the car wash AFTER your stay! Re the teenagers, they loved the wireless access and the fishing but having a personal watercraft, kayak and/or boat (there's a private launch) would have enhanced the trip. Helpful hint, make sure to enter ALL numbers listed for wireless access! Bottom line with this property, great value for the money, peace & quiet along the river, could use another window mounted A/C unit or two, but overall we would definitely stay here again! Also, the owners of the property could not have been more helpful and accommodating! PS. If you fish, go see Betty on Jordan Ave in Cato for all your bait & tackle needs, she was a highlight of the trip!

River House

August 25, 2009

We stayed at the River House with children and grandchildren and all had a wonderful time. It was very relaxing to be so close to the water - the hammock was frequently in use. The deck was a favorite place and we enjoyed sitting out there and watching the chipmunks and the activity on the river. We had a family reunion one night and the yard was big enough for everyone. A nice location - peaceful yet near town.

This is our second year staying in Baldwinsville, NY on Seneca River. We're an older couple so we enjoy the quiet and tooting up and down the river on our pontoon boat. My husband also enjoys fishing off the dock. The house has all the amenities necessary, fully equipped and very comfortably furnished. We also enjoy walking around the quaint town of Baldwinsville with a view of the Erie Canal Locks. We highly recommend this vacation spot.

Thanks for one of the best vacations ever. My wife and kids had the best time puting the boat in the water and going to nearby Cross Lake to swim and catch some of the best tasting fish. The location was better than expected, with the town close enough but it felt like we were in the mountains somewhere. Thanks again and we have told others about our vacation with you.
