Description of the Bar Harbor vacation cottage rental

Escape from it all in a cottage on a rocky ledge with magnificent views of Frenchman Bay surrounded by the Maine woods yet close to all the excitement of Acadia and Bar Harbor. Heathcove Cottage is a comfortable, peaceful retreat, located in one of the most beautiful vacation destinations in the country. Enjoy the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets from the deck or living room. Cocktail hour draws you onto the deck to watch the sailboats, porpoises, lobster boats, loons, seals, and other wildlife or just take in the distant mountains and listen to the lapping water below. Walk along the pebble beach and search for sea glass or explore the nearby “Ovens” and “Eye of the Needle”. Enjoy the wildflowers in the meadow above the cottage. Dozens of books, puzzles and games for a rainy day or a quiet evening.

Located on a quiet loop road just off Rt. 3 between Salisbury Cove and Hulls Cove, Heathcove is 3 miles from the main entrance to Acadia National Park and 6 miles to the shops and activities of Bar Harbor. The focal point of Heathcove Cottage is the cathedral ceilinged open living/dining room with fireplace opening out to the deck with views of the water a stone’s throw away. The rest of the cottage includes 3 bedrooms (queen – 1st floor, double and twin bedded rooms upstairs), full bath, galley kitchen and a deck just feet from the high tide mark overlooking Frenchman Bay. Bed linens, towels, electricity, propane, firewood and local phone calls are included in the rental. Cottage is also professionally cleaned between rentals so that you don’t have to spend your last day dusting, vacuuming and scrubbing!

Rental schedule is MONDAY to MONDAY - avoid the traffic backups!!

Off-season: $1250/week
In-season (July - Labor Day): $1700/week
plus required 7% Maine State Lodging Tax

Pet Fee: $150/week – Inquire about pet requirements.
Heathcove is a Non Smoking cottage.

Rental Terms:
50% deposit at the time of reservation.
Balance due 30 days prior to reservation date (reservations within 30 days of arrival require full payment).

It offers wonderful hiking with spectacular views, biking, nature presentations and so much more. Bar Harbor is an exciting small town with a rich variety of restaurants, entertainment, activities and shopping. This area truly offers something for everyone!
