Area Description

Within mintues one can be on the Acadia Island where Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park is located. So much things to see there. Here is start of the Downeast areas with it fantastic shore line. Go up coast to Campabello famous summer home of FDR. Take the "Cat" over to Canada ( full day trip) While in Acadia take it all in, Bar Harbor with all it offers, history, whale watching trips, Otter Creek, Cadillac Mountain area for breathtaking photos. Take a clipper ship ride, carriage ride through park, have lobster at local "Pound" Try to take in all the area has to offer.

Do not forget other areas--Village of Blue Hill with Blue Hill Mountain, famous galleries and antique shops. Take a ride down to Brooklin for visit at world known Wooden Boat School, or Stonington to see full scale lobster company at work, not to mention views along the way one would not forget soon.

Playground at Ellsworth middle school open to public. Ellsworth has a wonderful YMCA.
