Bigues i Riells is a village located in the Vallés Oriental area formed by the smaller villages of Bigues and Riells. With an extension of 28,64 square km it’s borders with picturesque villages such as Sant Quirze de Safaja, Sant Feliu de Codines, Caldes de Montbui, Santa Eulàlia de Ronçana, l'Ametlla del Vallès and El Figaró. The Bertí mountains and the Tenes river are the most important geographical features that strongly influence this beautiful region.

The country house or “masía” is located in Riells in a quite and friendly village 35 kms away from Barcelona. It’s located in a privileged area complete with a spectacular natural background ideal for groups and families searching for a relaxing holiday combining country and urban tourism with Barcelona only 35 km away. The local area, near the house, offers exciting walks through huge rock formations, cliffs, rivers and falls.

Barcelona Tourism:
Barcelona is a city that never sleeps. It is the capital city of Catalonia, an unfogettable town full of art and beauty, and it is a very important cultural centre and a first-class tourist destination with many World Heritage Sites.
From the masterpieces of Gaudí and other architects to the medieval city of “el barrio gótico”, the town also offers the Picasso Museum and as well as many other interesting museums. It is known worldwide for its football team, the Football Club Barcelona, popularly known as “el Barça”. You can also walk along the unique Ramblas, in the centre of town, and enjoy the street music bands or the live statues. There is also an array of music on offer at the Palau de la Musica or The Liceo.
Jump onto the “tranvía azul” which climbs to the Tibidabo and you will get a complete view of the whole city. Enjoy the finest shops on Paseo de Gracia or relax in Port Olimpic on the clean beautiful beaches. Enjoy the sunset as you drink your favourite refreshment in Barceloneta, the ancient fisherman village. The Barrio Gótico, the Gothic quarter offers a never ending selection of restaurants and bars with the famous “tapas” which are delicious small dishes. Later you can take a dip in the sea and lay on one of the golden long sandy beaches.
Also, an hour away or so from Barcelona you can enjoy the extremely beautiful beaches of La Costa Brava in Girona. This coast not only offers sun and sea but a strong cultural life with an entire ancient and very well preserved Greek community ruins and the outstanding Dalí Museum in Figueres.
The Pyrenees and its modern ski facilities are also within reach and at only one and a half hour from Riells.

There are many opportunities to find nature in closeby areas where everyone can hike safely through marked trails. Don’t forget that these trails are often fragile.
Through an old monks trail you can get to the old Sant Miquel del Fai monastery surrounded by falls, park and picnic area. There are many other routes that you can also visit nearby.

- Spa: Some of the ancient Roman-founded termal baths and spa resorts are at only 10m. (La garriga) or Caldes de Montbui.

- Golf facilities in Vallromanes, Sant Feliu de Codines and Caldes de Montbuí.
