Description of the Barnstable vacation home rental

This large historic home is beautifully and lovingly restored. It was built in 1754 and was a stagecoach stop for the Cape. It was also the place where the Whigs gathered during the revolution. This wonderful home is a great place to entertain or gather with family. It has 7 bedrooms and 6 1/2 baths. Many of the bedrooms have canopy beds and all rooms have sitting areas and many with small TVs. The kitchen is fully appointed to feed 18 and has granite counters and new stove, refrig and dishwasher and stainless steel sink. The diningroom and livingroom are tastefully decorated with comfort and family gathering in mind. The barn is an added feature that has a new barn floor, wide pine boards on the walls and curtains at the windows. It is a nice place to gather to play cards, do many of the puzzles left for your enjoyment or to just relax in. The yard is large with 3+ acres with about 1+acre that is lawn the rest is woods for wonderful privacy. The 2 stone patios look out over the lush lawn and the flower gardens that are spaced about the yard.

This property is located at about the middle of the Cape so it is an ideal location if you wish to visit either end of the Cape. It is just 7/10th of a mile to the ocean and swimming and less if you want to view the ocean. It is within walking distance to the Village of Barnstable and the restaurants, shops, village variety store and preforming arts theater. The harbor boast wonderful views of Sandy Neck island. This harbor also has a large whale watch boat that leaves frequently for daily trips and deep sea fishing boats that can be rented out. This house is about 2 miles to Hyannis center and all the malls, theaters, restaurants and ships to the Vineyard and Nantucket Islands. Within easy day trips there are many museums, historic sites, bike trails, ghost tours, and all forms of water sports.

This property is located right in the middle of an area that is full of activities for all ages. The harbor has all that a boater or beach goer needs but there is also a great variety of both salt and fresh water ponds. The area is also full of many antique shops and stores along the historic mile of the Capes Ole Kings Highway or 6A that are fun to explore. There are many nature trails or museums that cater to educating children and adults about the Cape and its history and natural preserves. A dune buggy ride on the sands of Provicetown is a great way to spend an evening. A trip to Nasset Beach is always a great take on a windy day with a kite. So much to do for all ages within a short distance.
