Description of the Bass Harbor vacation cottage rental
The Gordius Family welcomes you to spend your family vacation with them in the quaint fishing village of Bass Harbor, on the quiet side of Mount Desert Island. We are located on Rt 102A, just minutes to the Historical Bass Harbor Head Lighthouse, Ships Harbor, Wonderland and Seawall, surrounded by the windswept Acadia National Park.
Enjoy our rugged mountains and woodland trails, deep thick forests and beautiful, plush gardens.
Listen, enjoy and play in the pounding surf of the great Atlantic Ocean as it crashes against our islands rocky shorelines. Acadia National Park has lots to offer the hiker, naturalist, birdwatcher, artist and nature lovers of all kinds.

5 miles from Southwest Harbor which has some unique shops, restaurants, laundromat, and grocery store and Echo Lake fresh water beach.
5 minute walk to Seafood Ketch restaurant and a working waterfront wharf where you can watch the local fisherman bring in their catch of the day or comb the beach.
10 minute walk to Mainely Delights take out and restaurant where you can sit on the deck and enjoy the beautiful ocean scenery and the Swan's Island Ferry.
20 minutes from Bar Harbor, Carriage Trails, Cadillac Mountain, Sand Beach and Park Loop Road.

Fanstastic Place...and wonderful owners!!

Mary, the owner, could not be more accommodating! We stayed with two adults and 3 kids, and had plenty of room. The house is in a great location, near Wonderland tide pools and the lighthouse. And a quick drive to Jordan's pond. The house is fully equipped. Mary, when she heard we planned to rent a bike..took out some bikes of hers and filled the tires for us..and even helped us transport them to the ferry! Just lovely people and a cute, comfy, clean house. I have already recommended to many friends for their next trip to Acadia! Thanks Mary and hope to come again for a visit!
