Description of the Bath vacation home rental

Rock Haven Cottages are located on coastal waters in a very private setting. Every year, large striped bass are caught by fishermen standing right on our very own dock. The open ocean is about fifteen minutes from the dock. In the back yard there is a wildlife sanctuary and fantastic hiking trails. Camp roads are also open for biking trips.

There are two cottages available for rental, with many attractions nearby. One cottage has just been built and is 3 floors with 2 bedrooms, 3 baths, bottom floor with a walk-out and pull out couch. The other cottage is 2 floors, 3 bedrooms, 2 full baths and enclosed porch. There is a dock which is shared by the 2 cottages, nearby kayak and boat rentals.

Area Information

Several beaches nearby with Reid State Park, Popham and Pemaquid State Parks. Shopping in nearby Brunswick and Freeport, Maine State Music Theater, golf course, and museums.

Wonderful seaside retreat

July 9, 2012

My husband and I spent nearly a week at the cottage. We took our (large) dogs along as well. The owners were wonderful to work with. The cottage is quaint and isolated while still being only a few miles from town. The location is also in the middle of everything so we could easily visit Freeport and Portland as well. I could not recommend enough - great trip!!

Home Away from Home

We spend four nights in "Finally" with two kids and two dogs (it was great to be able to bring the dogs!). It was wonderful. The kids loved the dock and exploring around the rocks at low tide. The various games and puzzles came in handy too. It was a great location for us. We ventured to Freeport (shopping) and Boothbay (Whale Watch) and enjoyed Popham State Park Beach in the area also. Bath and Brunswick have some great restaurants too. We picked the bonus weekend as the Brunswick Air Show was going on. Perfect view of the Blue Angels and other various fighter jets flying around. Not to mention the spectacular fireworks show!!!

Our stay at "Finally" was wonderful. This West Bath location offered tranquility with a beautiful water view. There was plenty of space and all the amenities you could want on vacation. We all loved it!

We were two couples sharing the Idle Our cottage. There was plenty of room and we did not even use the lower level at all. This cottage has a great layout with the focus being all the views of the ocean. The dock was a great place to relax either in the morning or evening to read a book or listen to the birds. This is a very quiet location but you are just 20 minutes drive to either Popham or Reid State Park to go for a beach day. Also, you are just a short drive to L.L Bean and many outlet stores in Freeport. We even enjoyed fresh mussels picked right on the shore by the dock. There are a lot of fish markets and farmers markets in the area so be sure to check them out rather than buying from the super market. We highly recommend this cottage for couples or families.

Great location

Our "cottage" easily accommodated 7 people (2.5 baths) with ample parking. The cottage was very very nice with beautiful waterfront views. It came with all the linens/towels needed and was fully applianced with washer/dryer and AC. Location was perfect and only minutes away from Brunswick, perfect base for your daily excursions. Owners were very accommodating. There are 2 cottages located next to each other and would be a great spot if you had several families that wanted to rent both cottages for a great get away. Cottages are located right on the new meadows river with a very nice dock. I would highly recommend these accommodations and plan on staying here on our next family get away. Only thing I would mention is that there is a step bank down by the water that could pose a hazard if you have very young children (say under 5). You won't be disappointed.

Absolutely Lovely!

There were 7 of us that stayed in the larger, newer cabin. Kitchen is very well stocked. Clean. Plenty of linens, towels and hot water. It is remote but only about 10 minutes from the grocery. Quick,easy access to Route 1. View is beautiful. Owners very easy to work with. Have been coming to Maine for years and fishing the New Meadows. Highly recommend these cabins. Again only 10 minutes from the New Meadows public boat ramp. Wildlife abundant. Quiet. Will stay again!

Wonderful Week

From Ohio to Maine for first time. Stayed in this cottage which was everything we needed. Clean, spacious, quiet, and peaceful. Enjoyed the different levels to the house which allowed each of us to maintain privacy while enjoying the living/dining space. Kitchen was well equipped. Owners very easy to work with and accomodating. Location seemed a little remote at first but fairly convenient to the small towns. Our only disappointment was not catching a fish from the dock! Loved Maine - will return!
