Beautiful Colonial in Secluded Berkshires
|Per week:||$1,500 - $1,800|
Large screened in porch with a view of 200 year old maple trees; very spacious dining area; two fireplaces; fully equipped modern kitchen (completely renovated in 2000); new additional studio space with half bath and separate entranceway; more than 3500 square feet of living on 30 acres of mostly woodlands. There's plenty of peace and quiet but also convenience to local shops, shopping malls, nature reserves and mountain trails. October Mountain State Park a few miles away.
Please note this is an old house that needs to be treated with respect. We love our house. Well behaved dogs are welcome. We do prefer renting on a weekly basis, although weekends are sometimes permissible; rates vary with season.
Lee Outlet Mall nearby Lee. Downtown Lee has had a renaissance in the last ten years. Lovely main street with library and local crafts and restaurants.
We are two and a half hours from downtown Boston and three hours from downtown New York City.

This home was absolutely beautiful! It's a country home and for sure colonial... which we LOVED. We can't say enough good things about the home. Comfort, space, family time. There was no TV, which made us a little nervous with a 9, 12 and 13 year old but the variety of board games and yard space along with the frog pond kept them happy. Quite secluded and peaceful . We truly enjoyed every moment. We had family/friends over for a BBQ and there was tons of space for everyone. I loved the large kitchen and the extra sink. There is no A.C. but having the windows open really gave a nice breeze. We even had to wear sweatshirts a few nights. Sara was great at responding back in a timely matter, with questions and concerns. This home is for sure a place for those who want to relax and get away. We would for sure rent this home again. Thank you so much Sara for the memories our families will cherish. It was great to see the kids be kids... and us parents be kids a bit too. :)
Beautiful spacious home for winter fun

We had a lovely stay in this huge home in February. It was large enough to fit multiple families and couples. We enjoyed a weekend of wine, board games and sitting by the fire. Pittsfield was 25 minutes away, where we enjoyed the children's museum. Some skied at jimeny peak, tubed at butternut and snowshoed at the Canterbury farms just around the bend. Well appointed , nice furniture and a gorgeous kitchen. Much bigger than in photos.
Perfect New England spot for a family

We spent an idyllic summer week at this lovely house with our two young children and a family friend. Both the house and the surrounding property were stunning. The downstairs is spacious and open, with a huge eat in kitchen where we spent most of our indoor time. The house has a ton of character and its comfortable decor offers the ideal blend of luxurious and lived-in. Upstairs the bedrooms are comfortable and each one unique. The highlight of our week there was the time spent outdoors. In the mornings we tended to make coffee and breakfast and eat outside while our kids played in the huge outdoor gardens. Later in the day we'd hang out on the tree swing or pick berries on the property for baking pies later in the day. In short: the week we spent here gave us a taste of the best part of New England country living and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We'd love to stay in this property again one day.

This house would remind you of everything you would have dreamed of when reading Laura Ingalls Wilder, or Phillip Roth, or Thoreaux for that matter: it is beautiful, very warm and homy, in a beautify secluded setting. It breathes a typical Berkshire hospitality, is roomy, nice, clean, warm, nice: a place to return to many many times, for pure relaxation, inspiration or exaltation!

this house is wonderfully open and airy. There is room for everyone to spread out, but delightful communal areas as well. The kitchen is large and sunny and the breezes coming through the double doors to the classic backyard add a wonderful touch. Sophisticated and cozy, a real treasure.

About:Our house is filled with paintings, art books and literature. We love bare wood floors and sunny corners either out on the lawn or in the house. The fireplaces are not just for looking pretty but we light them for contemplation too. Some say this house has ghosts, but nice ones, if you believe ...
