Description of the Bedford vacation home rental

Whether you are looking for a romantic hideaway to get reacquainted, or want a fun family vacation, our house on Peach Lake offers it all.

The neighborhood is secluded and peaceful, yet we are close to everything and are an easy commute to Manhattan.

Just remodeled and handsomely furnished, this 3-5 bedroom colonial home has incredible lake views and lake access. There is a brand new granite kitchen with new stove, microwave and dishwasher. The home features an open living room and dining room area with a fireplace. A large wall of windows overlooks the lake and woods. French doors lead out to an open deck, a screened porch and steps down to the back yard and garden.

We are a 200-step walk to private beach and park. Public golf courses are adjacent. Riding stable nearby. Sit down bar. Barbeque grill provided. High speed internet access and HBO are also included.

Downstairs has three bedrooms and two full baths.
Upstairs features a master bedroom with French doors opening to a balcony and an amazing lake and beach view. There is a cathedral ceiling with concealed lighting. There is a second large balconied room which can be used as a bedroom or office. The 2nd floor also has a library and twin beds. There is a one-half bath upstairs and a washer/dryer.

Area Description

Set in a woodsy area, we are close to wonderful hiking, camping and biking facilities, plus antiquing centers and unique shops. Attractions include Caramoor, Mountain Lakes Park; Pound Ridge Reservation; the Hammond Japanese Garden; Thunder Ridge; Ives Hall; the Hudson Shakespeare Festival; Cold Spring; Bear Mountain and many others. Located at the border of Westchester and Putnam Counties (NY) and Fairfield County (CT), we are close to the Hudson, the Berkshires and Catskills, the Long Island sound area and of course, Manhattan. There are working farms here, but also sophisticated restaurants and fun parks for kids. Excellent restaurants abound.

There is ample off-street parking. Although we are a rural area, we are close to all. We are seven minutes from Route 684, nine minutes to the Metro North train. Westchester County Airport is 30 minutes, the Danbury Mall is 12 minutes and the Taconic Parkway, gateway to the Berkshires, is 20 minutes.
