Description of the Beijing vacation condo rental

Our fairly new hotel apartment for rent in central Beijing near Forbidden City and Tian'AnMen Square. It's located at the New World Shopping Center right at Chongwenmen, on 2nd Ring, an ideal location for foreign visitors to Beijing.

About 1000 sqft, with 1 bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, 1 kitchen and full living and dinning area, for maximum 4 people to live in. It's fully furnished with HDTV(with international cable programs), air conditioning, fridge, washer, etc. It's on the 5th floor of Downtown Bravo Tower (also called New World Taihua Apartments, next to the New World Shopping Center, see picture). Entertainment rooms, gym, swimming pool, tennis court are inside or within the complex. many of the residents here are foreign expats or visitors.

Downstairs is a public park with the ancient courtyard residence of a Qing Dynasty royal official. Restaurants movie theatres, shopping centers, Starbucks, Chinese Opera House, hospital, drugstore, etc are all closeby and subway station is within short walking distance.

The location is superb, in the center of the city, one subway stop to Tian'AnMen Square, one stop to Beijing Central Train Station and 3 stops to the US Embassy area or China World Center/CBD, close to Oriental Plaza and Lufthansa Center as well. The Temple of Heaven and HongQiao Shopping Mall(most preferred by foreign visitors) are fairly close.

We expect renting with minimum 1 week's stay, with discount to longer term. Current room rent is $85-90 per day, or $550 per week or $1500 per month(longer-term rental has some additional utility fees). Room-cleaning service and other services can be arranged with fees. Area Description

Beijing is a vibrant city embracing both the ancient history, art and stories along with its breath-taking modernization and booming economy. There are many things to do at this condo location at the heart of Beijing. The location is close to many of the ancient sites and tourist attractions in Beijing like Tian'AnMen Square, Forbidden City, The Temple of Heaven, etc. Other famous shopping centers like HongQiao Shopping Mall are also very closeby.

The building residence has access to entertainment room, meeting rooms, gym, sauna inside the building. Tennis court is within the building complex. The downstairs of the Towers has a modern shopping center (The New World Shopping Center). It has indoor skating groud. Restaurants, movie theatres, bars, Starbucks are just downstairs of the building. Cleaning services and other services can be arranged.

we stayed during the olympics, August 27, 2008

The place was very clean and spacious. It was close enough to the city center and many activities were reachable by taxi, bus or subway. The building is secure and we felt very safe. The water pressure was great and the water was always hot. There is a clothes washer available for laundry in the unit. Remember, this ia a privately owned condo, so do not expect hotel amenities like fresh towels daily or maid service. The kitchen is very small, but does supply a refridgerator, gas stove and microwave. (the microwave is not very powerful, but does work.) There is a grocery store with in walking distance for food needs. there are plenty of Chinese restaurants close by, including KFC, Mcdonalds and Pizza Hut. There is a Starbucks with free wireless internet service if you need it. The condo has a nice television with HBO and two English channels. Bring extra towels, (two supplied) and a blanket for sleeping on the couch. The bedroom matress was hard. No curtains for privacy on the window

Olympic Vacation, August 26, 2008

This apartment in Beijing has excellent access to amenities (subway, taxis)right next door to a large, modern, indoor mall with recreational facilities in the next wing. These recreational facilities were unavailable during the Olympic period so I was unable to view them. There is an internet bar across the street as well as McDonalds, Starbucks and KFC and Bank of China. For Beijing standards, this is a large apartment with a nice sized living room, nice projection tv. The kitchen is small with a small refrigerator but is manageable; good for breakfast and snacks. The bedroom is nice sized and there is 1 1/2 bathrooms. I would not call this luxury but think comfortable. However the beds maybe a bit uncomfortable if you are not use to hard mattresses..but there is a great Foot Massage on the corner that will make you forget about it (88 rmb for 1 hr). The manager, Michael Chen is most accomodating and helped us with a couple of issues. He speaks very good english. Good Value.
