Choose from 6 comfortable bedrooms...

Guests can choose from 6 bedrooms, 5 of which have en-suite bathrooms.
Most have original oak flooring, items of furniture made from sustainable local timber, comfortable beds, and huge windows to make the most of the lovely view.
One ground-floor bedroom and bathroom are accessible for wheelchairs.
All rooms are twin-bedded (perfect for mixed groups) but we can make them up as doubles to suit your requirements.
We strive to be child-friendly holiday accommodation - we can provide some of those 'bulky' items that are difficult to pack for a holiday (travel cots, high-chairs, toys, baby baths, stair-gates, etc.) - just let us know what you need when booking and we will do our best to provide it.
Put your feet up in the cosy lounge...

Adjoining the kitchen is the spacious lounge, where you can relax in front of the satellite television (with DVD player), or chat to friends in comfort.
Both of the sofas have 'pull-out' double beds and there is also a wood-burning stove - great for reading in front of on a chilly winter's evening.
We are happy to provide DVDs and books for the use of our guests, including childrens' books and useful wildlife reference books.

There is access for wheelchair users to the garden, via the French windows and paved ramp.

The homely kitchen is fully equipped to meet all of your culinary needs and perfect for large groups who enjoy 'eating in'.
You will find a big gas oven and hob and also all of the other utensils / facilities that you would expect to find in a modern kitchen.
The centre-piece of this great kitchen is the very large kitchen table, which can seat up to fourteen people.
The two local bar / restaurants offer an alternative to self-catering. Additionally, we will be delighted to arrange meals for larger groups.

Imagine yourself relaxing on the terrace (a real sun trap!) on a warm summer's evening, drinking a glass of wine and gazing at the beautiful Limousin countryside;
or waking up with the early morning light and doing a spot of bird watching from your own back garden; or just watching your children play on the spacious lawn area.
There is a barbeque for guests who enjoy alfresco dining and the large, secure garden is ideal for families with children.

For a stimulating, rewarding and enjoyable break, come and join us with like-minded people on one of our residential courses which are held throughout the year.

We feel that Limousin is the ideal location in which to hold courses in France. All of our learning holidays focus on and celebrate the environment in some way.
All course participants and their partners stay at beautiful Vacances Vertes les Belles and course prices include:

The services of an experienced tutor.
Materials and tools.
Evening meals at Vacances Vertes les Belles (one evening meal will be taken at a local restaurant). Wine and aperitifs included.
Picnic / buffet lunches (e.g. delicious organic salads, bread, locally-made pate, quiches, etc.).
Hearty breakfasts to set you up for the day.
All food is organic or locally produced / sourced where possible.

We currently offer 3 courses (held throughout the year) - Organic Vegetable Gardening, Art and Design in Nature and Limousin Landscapes painting holidays.

Area Info
St Germain les Belles is a perfect example of a fine Limousin village - peaceful, attractive and just seconds away from beautiful rolling countryside. It also boasts many attractions:

5-hectare tranquil village lake and sandy beach, with supervised swimming and pedalo hire throughout the summer. There is also an adjacent play area for the kids. The campsite bar / restaurant is open to the public in the summer and has some fantastic music / themed nights.
2 bar-restaurants, local grocery shops (selling delicious local fruit, cheese, wine, locally-raised meat) and 2 'boulangeries' - live the dream of having warm croissants for breakfast!
Typically French, winding, narrow streets and historic buildings, including the beautiful 14th century medieval village church.
Festivals, markets, dances, cinema showings, children's activities...
The village also boasts a bank, a limited railway service to Limoges, an estate agent, a petrol station, a pharmacy and 2 recycling points.
Limousin has been called the 'French Lake District' but it has a beauty and charm all of its own. It is incredibly rural and peaceful with magical scenery. There are few busy roads, a huge network of meandering country walks, rolling hills, forests, lakes, etc. You will certainly be able to experience a slower pace of life and true rural French culture. We are surrounded by swimming lakes and beaches; Lake Vassiviere, which is Europe's largest man-made lake and a popular tourist destination, is only 45 minutes away.

We are also only 30 minutes away from the attractive city of Limoges, where you can discover the large number of Porcelain factory outlets, independent boutiques, an Aquarium, restaurants, and the nightlife... or simply wander around the historic Old Quarter.

This rural location is great for bird watching, climbing, canoeing, animal parks, fishing, open gardens, stunning historical buildings, museums, etc. For further information on the wealth of things to see and do here, please contact us or have a look at our Links page.
