Loved this quaint little yurt!

November 6, 2013

We had sooo much fun staying in this quaint little yurt! We didn't want to leave, its was so warm and cozy during the storminess. We absolutely loved it! Loved Bellingham during Halloween! That town knows how to have a good time!

YURT Life!

September 19, 2013

An excellent park-like setting - woods, rustic, serene, relaxing, and lots of privacy. The yurt is set up with all the little things you would need for a relaxing stay - a bad wind/rain storm couldn't even put a damper on the experience. Nolan was available if/when we needed him. An excellent place to stay - we will be back!!!

Fun, cheap, and convenient

September 8, 2013

Pros: Cheap, near trails, well equipped, comfortable bed, near trees, near Fairhaven, pet friendly, it's a YURT! Cons: highway noise, near owner's house, barking dog (perhaps because we had dogs), could use some cleaning (though we know it's sort of camping & to be expected). Overall, it's a fun place for easy access to all the great things Bellingham has to offer.

Beautiful setting near forest and many hiking trails. Total privacy in the yurt with all the basics for cooking and an attached bathroom. Very close to Fairhaven.

Loved it!

August 7, 2013

We had a lovely time in the yurt. It backs on to an endless forest with a meandering creek. The yurt had more than what we needed. It was warm and cozy. Nolan was friendly but gave us our space. It was like we were in a world of our own. I didn't want to leave and I would definitely visit again.

noise from the highway

July 31, 2013

It's good enough for the money we paid. However, it is very close to the highway, so the traffic noise is constant. If you are someone very sensitive to noise, like my friend who had to move after the first night, maybe it's not a good place for you.

Yurt

June 10, 2013

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May- our first time seeing a yurt before! Its very small, but quaint and private. Loved staring into the woods through the windows and skylight, as well as the bathroom window. There is a toaster oven, mini fridge, and a hot plate (which we discovered is a portable burner) so we were able to eat most of our meals there. Plenty of blankets so we were more than warm enough at night without a heater running. (Temp was down to low 50s and upper 40s at night while we were there.) The bathroom was not yet insulated so it was very damp in there which meant the bathmats and towels never dried if left in there. I draped the towels over the chairs most of the time to keep them dry; the bathmats stayed damp most of the time since we had mostly rainy days. Great for those who love the woodsy setting and are adventurous! We would stay there again.

Best in Spring and Summer

March 15, 2013

This is a sweet furnished yurt close to Chuckanut Drive. There is clearly a lot of attention to detail to make it comfortable and cozy. There is a microwave, small refrigerator, very sweet bathhouse with composting toilet and fairly comfortable bed. It is quite private, though it is close to the freeway; there is an ample supply of earplugs, but there is still quite a lot of noise. One of the nights I stayed there, it got down to 29 degrees. While there is a space heater, it is still a yurt so heat doesn't stay contained in that kind of cold. If you plan to go in early Spring, bring some down and you'll be a lot cozier. There is also a white noise machine by the bed that may help with the traffic noise. When outside, you can hear the babbling brook too. Who are all those people on the road at night?

Very rustic experience with great owner

February 20, 2013

The owner of the yurt was very friendly and helpful. He was what made the experience! Unfortunately, the yurt was located so close to the I-5 freeway that we had trouble sleeping. Also, there was no way to lock the door, so we didn't feel comfortable leaving our dog there during the day, or any valuables, while we went out. If you are prepared to stay in a place that is an alternative to staying in a rustic cabin, and you can make your mind think that the freeway noise is just the sound of ocean waves, then this place may be just for you.

Good place to take a break

January 18, 2013

Lovely little yurt- everything you need for a camping/hostel-style holiday! Thanks to Nolan for making us welcome. As a note, if you stay here during the winter, be prepared for frost and bring plenty of warm clothes- because it's a yurt :) Also be willing to put up with freeway noise- Nolan nicely provides earplugs for guests.

Rustic Ambiance

December 23, 2012

The accommodations were wonderfully charming in every way. Cute as a bug's ear with loving and creative attention obviously given to every little detail. Ditto the positives I see others have said. Babbling creek night music. Respectful hosts. Highly recommend!

Nolan's Yurt

October 31, 2012

Overall, the Yurt is splendid and is somewhat secluded at the start of a wooded area and the property line of the owner's yard. The utilities are good however the cooking area is small. The shower is wonderful although there was no shower curtain so the rugs were wet regularly. The place has two heaters so it is fairly warm except when the power went out. Nolan, the owner, is a wonderfully supportive person who wanted to ensure I had all the comforts needed for my stay. He's friendly and respects the renters privacy. One footnote, the t.v. isn't top quality and the sound goes out regularly. It isn't a problem if you do not watch t.v. but I did at night when it rained. Overall, I loved the place. I would stay again and could gladly live there it is so pleasant.

Highly recommended

September 23, 2012

I really enjoyed staying in this Yurt. My dog Canela had a lot of room to run around, and there is a creek below to explore in. The room was clean and tidy with movies, books and games to entertain. I was impressed with the accommodations and shower was really hot! The bed was comfy and overall the yurt was cozy. I liked staying here and would come again if I ever needed a getaway or place to stay. Thank you Nolan!

cozy, secluded woodland retreat.

August 27, 2012

Great yurt set back on the edge of the "yard" looking into the woods. Simple composting toilet and rustic but warm shower. Inside the yurt it's super cozy and a great place to kick your feet up after a long day of hiking in the hills. Nolan couldn't have made It any easier to book and pay for the days I wanted. Highly recommended.

Quaint location - too much road noise

August 6, 2012

I loved the grounds of this quaint little yurt in Bellingham, the location was perfect. I even loved the outdoor enclosed shower, etc. HOWEVER, the property description should mention that there is a LOT of road noise from I5 which runs right behind the property, and traffic there runs all hours of the day and night. I didn't sleep much.
