Description of the Bellingham vacation apartment rental

VACATION RENTAL: Yurt in a woodland setting. Immaculate 1 bedroom vacation rental just south of freeway exit #250 Bellingham. This unique rental is walking distance to Arroyo Park and Teddy Bear cove 5 minute drive to Historic Fairhaven. Fully furnished it has a queen bed and a couch/futon. It has a mini refrigerator, a toaster oven, hot plate and a crock pot. There is an newly rennovated bathroom attached to the yurt wtih (hot water) shower, toilet and sink. The private entrance is below the main house with off-street parking. There are no shared areas, giving you total privacy. No Smoking Wireless Internet is available . Payment via Paypal. Now booking for the rest of the summer and fall. Minimum 2 night stay.

Area Information

Bellingham and the surrounding area is rich in out door activities and spectacular scenery. Things you may wish to see:

Interurban Trail (5 minute walk from rental) is one of the most popular trails in the area with diverse foliage, ecosystems, stunning views and branching side trails.

Chuckanut Drive begins just down the road from the rental. It curves along side Bellingham Bay at the foot of Chuckanut Mountains with panoramic, breathtaking views of the San Juan Islands. Along the way you will pass Larrabee State Park with is Washington's first state park a 2,683 acre park with 8,100 feet of saltwater shoreline on Samish Bay.

Marine Life Center at 1801 Roeder Ave. Three aquariums, large observation pool and touch pool. Open daily from 10am to 6 pm.

The outdoor sculpture collection at Western Washington University is world class and not to be missed. Whatcom Falls Park and Squalicum Harbor with a number of 4 star restaurants are also well worth a visit.

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May- our first time seeing a yurt before! Its very small, but quaint and private. Loved staring into the woods through the windows and skylight, as well as the bathroom window. There is a toaster oven, mini fridge, and a hot plate (which we discovered is a portable burner) so we were able to eat most of our meals there. Plenty of blankets so we were more than warm enough at night without a heater running. (Temp was down to low 50s and upper 40s at night while we were there.) The bathroom was not yet insulated so it was very damp in there which meant the bathmats and towels never dried if left in there. I draped the towels over the chairs most of the time to keep them dry; the bathmats stayed damp most of the time since we had mostly rainy days. Great for those who love the woodsy setting and are adventurous! We would stay there again.

The accommodations were wonderfully charming in every way. Cute as a bug's ear with loving and creative attention obviously given to every little detail. Ditto the positives I see others have said. Babbling creek night music. Respectful hosts. Highly recommend!

Nolan's Yurt

Overall, the Yurt is splendid and is somewhat secluded at the start of a wooded area and the property line of the owner's yard. The utilities are good however the cooking area is small. The shower is wonderful although there was no shower curtain so the rugs were wet regularly. The place has two heaters so it is fairly warm except when the power went out. Nolan, the owner, is a wonderfully supportive person who wanted to ensure I had all the comforts needed for my stay. He's friendly and respects the renters privacy. One footnote, the t.v. isn't top quality and the sound goes out regularly. It isn't a problem if you do not watch t.v. but I did at night when it rained. Overall, I loved the place. I would stay again and could gladly live there it is so pleasant.

I really enjoyed staying in this Yurt. My dog Canela had a lot of room to run around, and there is a creek below to explore in. The room was clean and tidy with movies, books and games to entertain. I was impressed with the accommodations and shower was really hot! The bed was comfy and overall the yurt was cozy. I liked staying here and would come again if I ever needed a getaway or place to stay. Thank you Nolan!

Great yurt set back on the edge of the "yard" looking into the woods. Simple composting toilet and rustic but warm shower. Inside the yurt it's super cozy and a great place to kick your feet up after a long day of hiking in the hills. Nolan couldn't have made It any easier to book and pay for the days I wanted. Highly recommended.
