Property is positioned among the palm trees, on the beach of a beautiful cove, on the calm side of the island...The fine sandy beach extends gradually into the water making it excellent for swimming, snorkling and diving....On the Atlantic side there are caves to explore, long beaches and also The Hermitage built by Fr. Jerome in 1908...It is the hihest point in all the Bahamas....Cat Island is still unspoiled and far from developed, but there are fine Bahamian restaurants with wonderful local food...The island is relaxed and informal...Shorts & T-shirts are all you will need....a very well stocked store is about a ten minute ride from the house.....Bahamian people are wonderful and friendly and you will return with fond memories of them.

We recently rented the house, Shangri-la on Cat Island in the Bahamas and we enjoyed every minute of it. We will definitely stay there again. The house was perfect for a get-away-from-it-all vacation. We have rented homes in the Bahamas for over 10 years and this was one of our very favorite ones. I know we will return to this quiet, secluded vacation house on a perfect beach on the undiscovered Cat Island.
