Description of the Berkeley vacation home rental

This area is called SOUTH BERKELEY. THIS IS A NON SMOKING RENTAL. A cozy spot to hang your hat in fun & funky Berkeley, California!

This is an 865 SF single family home that was originally built in 1924 and we have tried to maintain its original charm while allowing for all modern conveniences. We renovated the house in 2007 from top to bottom. This home now features a brand new fully equipped kitchen with stainless steel appliances, granite counter tops, double door fridge, dishwasher, microwave, gas stove, wine fridge, kitchen nook (no formal dining room)and your own private compact washer and dryer. There is a glass slider that leads from the kitchen out onto a large L shaped deck that wraps around half the house. The deck is South facing and gets great sun all day long. We have 2 large lounge chairs, a childs picnic table & a new propane 2 burner BBQ all for enjoying the great weathet we get here in Berkeley!

The house is tastefully decorated. There is a bedroom toward the back of the house with a full sized bed that can sleep 2, night stand and a relaxing zen vibe to it. The master bedroom is a large room at the front of the house and features a queen sized bed that can sleep 2. The master also has a wood burning fire place, walk in closet, cozy reading chair, television with digital cable, DVD player and three light filled windows, which makes this a bright sunny room. There is also a crib available that sleeps 1 infant up to 50 lbs as well as a highchair available upon request. There is an additional one time charge of $10.00 per item or $15.00 for both. The entire house sleeps 6 persons max. There are sleeping spaces in the existing beds for 4 and we have an inflatable bed for 2 additional persons for a 1 time charge of $75.00.

The living room is cozy and comfortable with a soft & cushy bronze & burnt orange sofa, coffe table, throw for snuggling around the coffee table to play a few family games, watch a movie on cable or pop in a DVD.

We provide all linens, plush cozy towels for bathing, and brand new forced air heating system to insure your comfort no matter what the temperature is outside.

We provide all utensils, pots, pans, cookware, coffee mugs, drinking glasses and a coffee maker for all you coffee lovers out there.

All utilities are included, we also provide digital cable with Encore and On Demand free movies & entertainment, free WIFI, as well as free local & nationwide long distance.

We are a short ten blocks walk to Ashby Bart Station, a seven minute car ride to the University of California Berkeley Campus as well as a quick 20 minute ride to downtown San Francisco for some shopping or nightlife! There is not much to walk to in this primarily residential neighborhood and we recommend renting a car.

For family's with babies a child's crib (50 lb maximum) and and high chair can be provided upon request for an additional charge of $10.00 per item for the duration of your stay.($15.00 for both high chair & crib usage).

Area Description

This is a residential area with not much to walk to and we recommend having a rental car. The house has a private driveway which is there for your use while you stay with us so there is no need to worry about trying to find parking on the street.

Vacation Rental Policies

Required Stay: 3 night minimum
Lodging Tax: 10.5%
Deposits: There is a $300.00 fully refundable security deposit that is refunded within 3 days of vacating provided there are no breakages or shortages. In order to reserve dates we require receipt of 1/2 of the security deposit $150.00 and the balance is due 45 days prior to check in.
Other Fees: There is a $65.00 non refundable cleaning fee & 10.5% Berkeley lodging tax on all stays. Monthly renters do not pay cleaning fee or loding tax it is included in the rental amount-a monthly renter is someone who stays 28 days or more. If you require a crib or high chair they are available for a one time charge of $15.00 for both or $10.00 each.
