You've found our sanctuary--our escape from the stress and noise, our place to reconnect as a family--and we want to share it with you! Here at "Ruby Palace" (named for our golden retriever "Ruby" as well as the ski trail at Sunday River's "Oz"), you will find yourself able to unwind the moment you walk through the barnboard doors and into the high-ceilinged, open-concept downstairs. Our spacious galley kitchen with butcher-block countertop is great for cooking meals while you chat with friends and family perched on barstools. Our beautiful cherry dining set comfortably seats 8. After dinner, retreat to the comfy living room for conversation and board games and movies on the plasma widescreen TV with surround sound. Better yet, take two steps outside to the 6-person hot tub located on the back deck. For some real peace and quiet, send the kids to the finished daylight basement where they can run around, dance under our Disco ball, challenge each other at Foosball, or settle in for Playstation2. You can even let at least (3) of them sleep in the private bedroom adjacent to the bonus room. Back on the main floor, you'll find a private master suite with a queen four-poster cherry bed (We added two lock-off doors for extra privacy and soundproofing!) Walk upstairs and find the bunk room that accommodates (5) (a full size bed on the bottom of one of the 2 sets of bunk beds). A full "Jack and Jill" bathroom connects to a second bedroom which has a full-size bed and an extra mattress for the floor. For overflow, a futon couch is conveniently located in the loft at the top of the stairs. Store your gear in the convenient "ski room" in any season. Rates start at $1,500 week.

The Western Maine Mountains are a 4-season destination. Bethel and the surrounding area offers unlimited miles of some of the East's best-groomed snowmobile and cross-country ski trails, sledding, ice skating, back country skiing, snow-shoeing, and hiking and biking trails, the two of the best golf courses in NE. At Sunday River less than 10 minutes away, you can enjoy skiing & snowboarding (both day & night), telemarking, snow tubing, ice skating, Sunday River Mountain Biking, dog sledding, skiing, horse drawn carriage rides, fine dining, family shows hosted by the Mountain, and the new Trent Jones Championship Golf Course. In Bethel Village, within walking distance of "Ruby Palace," you will find water slides, boating, kayaking, tennis, mini-golf, indoor rock climbing, laser tag, a movie theater, bowling, gem mining, and shopping in quaint Bethel village. Also less than a 10 minute drive away is the smaller, more novice Mount Abram with day & night skiing, snow tubing, ice skating, and many family activities.

For the day trippers, numerous other activities abound: In winter, other ski mountains to visit within an hour's drive are Sugarloaf, ME; Wildcat, NH; Bretton Woods, NH; Cannon Mountain, NH; and Attitash, NH. Other times of the year, the Maine and New Hampshire National Parks provide amples opportunities for hiking, biking, picnics, and dips in the many natural waterfalls that can be found in more detail on the "swimming holes" link listed below. Not far away are opportunities for whitewater rafting and canoeing. Visit Storyland, Santa's Village, Heritage New Hampshire, or shop the famous North Conway Outlets for another day trip. In the summer, don't miss out on the endless opportunities to experience Maine country fairs, flea markets, and farmer's markets.

We are conveniently located 90 minutes north of Portland, ME and its Jetport and approximately 3 hours north of Boston's Logan Airport.
