Moulin de Pierretoune is a beautiful Basque watermill built in 1550. The mill is surrounded by 5 acres of land, a large terrace with pergola and an island-style garden. There are 4 bedrooms, all of which overlook the river. 3 of the bedrooms have double beds, the largest of which has a fireplace, the 4th bedroom is a twin bedroom. There is a large living/dining room with large fireplace, well equipped kitchen and laundry room. 3 doors in the living room lead out onto the large terrace which reaches over the river to an island-style garden. The terrace is perfect for al fresco dining and aperitifs.

Area Description

The mill is situated on the river Arberoue just outside the village of La Bastide Clairence, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. In wonderfully peaceful countryside, yet just half an hour from Biarritz and Pau and just 10 minutes from the A64 motorway. The surrounding countryside is stunningly beautiful with rolling hills and Basque farmhouses. The fields surrounding the mill have horses, who regularly come down to the river to drink, cows, sheep and even lamas!
