You will love this newly renovated cottage, "Sea Escape". It is so close to the ocean, the beach will feel like it's in your front yard. The beach is only stone's throw from the front door. Once on the beach you will find a majestic, panoramic view of 9 islands (one with a lighthouse), Saco River inlet with a jetty to climb on and fish from, etc. If you have a boat, bring it!

Hill's Beach is very quiet and just far enough to get away from all the tourist beaches. For the most part, the only people who frequent this area of beach are those who live on the street, approximately 10 houses. So the large, sandy beach is almost all yours!

If you have kids (like our family), you will enjoy the peace of mind being on a side street with very little traffic and the large yard for the kids to run and play while they wait for you to go to the beach.

Completely furnished and renovated with washer/dryer. It is an all season 3 bedroom home offering wall to wall carpeting, air conditioning and wood floors in bedrooms, fully applianced kitchen, 27" TV with extended digital cable offering over 150 channels, DVD player, and wireless internet.

Area Information

This cottage is located on a side street and next to the mouth of the Saco River! Address: 9 Long Ave, Biddeford, ME, 04005 (Just off Hills Beach Rd.) 7 miles north of Kennebunkport. Just 25 minutes south of Portland and 45 minutes from L.L. Bean. There is also a water park & two amusement parks within 20 minutes.

The location of being so close to the water and so close to Kennebunk, Portland, Biddeford Pool, Goose Rocks, Freeport or South to Kittery, Ogunquit, makes this an ideal area.

Great Time

My family spent the week at Stone's Throw as well as the owners other property High View. The house & apartment were both clean and comfortable. It was just about a 2 minute walk to the beach. Perfect considering there were two 2 year olds with us. The beach was nice, not exactly what I was picturing. Because it is at the mouth of the Saco it doesn't feel like salt water but more like fresh. Over all it was a great experience, 15 minutes to Kennebunkport & Old Orchard. I would recommend either property.

This is a spacious and very well located house. We were a group or 8 from age 11 to 70, and every generation loved it. We enjoyed the camp fires on Hills beach, the tennis courts about 6km down the road, the beautifull beaches close by (Bidderford Pool, Goose Rocks, Wells), the air conditionning, cable TV, and the quietness of the neighbourhood. We would definitely go back! Tip: If you want to park at the Bidderford Beach, you need to buy a parking pass ($10/day) at the City Hall down town.

The house was located within walking distance to the beach and had alot of creature comforts that you don't get at a stay in a hotel. Loved the area and people were very friendly. Will go back again next year!

Spacious, little cottage

Our Home Depot marketing crew had a tough time finding a hotel, so I booked this cottage. It is FAR more spacious then it appears in the picture and I think it's location couldn't be more perfect. We had 5 adults total and we had a blast cooking out, talking with the neighbors, and relaxing at the beach. Just 2 houses down from a private beach entrance. Great spot! Great price!

Too expensive for one family

Very nice place, my mother-in-law visted for a couple of days. She is in a wheelchair and was plenty of room to move around. Wish there was an outside shower. Hills Beach is one of my favorite places on earth. However $2000.00 a week without a guarentee of nice weather is very expensive for one week for one family. The only way I could got back is if I could someone to split the cost. Nice place though clean and plenty of room Thanks!
