Description of the Biddeford vacation home rental

Just steps away from this 4 bedroom 1 1/2 bath home is a sandy beach the whole family can enjoy. The kids will enjoy the wagon ride to the beach and be busy morning til night. Parents will enjoy not having to get a beach sticker and find a parking place. This home is well equipped for a relaxing family vacation. The kitchen is modern with dishwasher, microwave, etc. Internet, telephone, 2 cable TV all ready for you to enjoy. This home also has a washer and dryer. There are 2 outdoor decks with chairs table etc. The yard is flat and ready for fun. There are 3 parking places, charcoal grill, outside shower. Bring your bathing suit and you are all set.

Area Information

The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge is all around you. You can bird watch to your hearts content. A 15 min drive will put you in Kennebunkport where you can shop, eat, enjoy the galleries and many other tours, walks etc. Portland and Casco Bay are about 30 min away and as in other good size cities there is plenty to do. Take a ferry ride to Big Diamond Cove and have lunch and explore the island. Big Diamond was an Army post during world war 2 and is now a lovely spot to have a lazy afternoon lunch. The Portland Museum of Art is well worth the trip. Winslow Homer and many other great artists are on display. Call the museum to find out what special show is running and any other details you may want.

Portland is a foodie city, people come from Boston and New York to share the food experience in Portland. You will always get a great meal in this fun city.

Of course there are many places to enjoy great Maine Lobster. Nunan's Lobster Hut is one of the best. It is located on Rt. 9 west. Wolf's is always a favorite only 10 minutes from the house they will cook it and you can bring it home......no mess. They are located about 5 minutes from the house on Rt. 9 west. Shadybrook Farm just off West St. in Biddeford has wonderful fresh vegtables. Picked the day you buy them...it just does not get better. In corn season they have the best... Aug. 1 forward.

Great getaway

July 26, 2012

We had a wonderful week at this lovely cottage. The location was great and we loved having just a short walk to the beach. It was quiet and relaxing! Also close enough to Kennebunk, Wells and Ogunquit to go there for more shopping, restaurants and larger beaches. House was well-equipped, and we felt right at home. Thought we would have wireless internet, but didn't. That was the only "negative", but a VERY minor one!

Owner's reply:

We are looking into wireless internet and hope that it will be more convenient for our guests. We have also done other updates this fall. We have installed new carpet throughout and expect new furniture in the living room this winter. We always try to give the best vacation experience possible.

We had a terrific vacation here. The house is comfortable and well-equipped. the beach is very quiet and has tidepools for the little ones to explore. I would definitely rent here again!

Relaxing Vacation

We experienced a very relaxing vacation here, the short walk to the private beach definitely made our holiday, especially with two children. House was comfortable and spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The scenery is beautiful, wildlife on one side and ocean on the other makes for memorable evening walks. Would definitely recommend this.
