Come to Maine and enjoy the beautiful colors of fall. You can still stroll the beach, enjoy the color of our wildlife refuge, bike ride, relax, read a good book, watch the ocean, eat lobster and go to one of our beautiful orchards. Some of the best apples come from Alfred only 30 min west. After a great day of apple picking come back and bake a pie in our well equipped kitchen.
Fall is the most beautiful time of year in Maine sunny, warm days give way to cool, crisp nights. No waiting to taste that Lobster you have heard so much about. Crowds are down, trees are full of color. This area is great for bird watching, we have a wildlife refuge in our neighborhood. Rachel Carson land is all aroud this home. Bring some friends and enjoy Maine this fall.
Portland, as featured on the Today Show is only 30 min. away. It is a wonderful place to find fine food, explore Casco Bay by the ferry system, enjoy the museums.
The Rachel Carson wildlife refuge is all around you. You can bird watch to your hearts content. A 15 min drive will put you in Kennebunkport where you can shop, eat, enjoy the galleries and many other tours, walks etc. Portland and Casco Bay are about 30 min away and as in other good size cities there is plenty to do. Take a ferry ride to Big Diamond Cove and have lunch and explore the island. It was an Army post during the war and is now a lovely spot to have a lazy afternoon lunch.
Of course there are many places to enjoy good old Maine Lobster. Don't miss the out of the way places that we will be happy to tell you about.
