Description of the Biddeford vacation home rental

Family home on quiet street in Biddeford Pool. Ideal Southern Maine location - getaway from the crowds but only 10 minutes to Kennebunkport and 25 minutes to Portland.

House has large wrap-around porch on front with ocean view to enjoy meals, entertain, or relax and read.

The sandy beach is a five-minute walk on wooded path.
The rocky beach is at the end of our street. You can see it from the porch.

Area Information

Biddeford Pool is a quaint community that sits on a peninsula off the coast of Southern Maine.
It has a little village with general store, post office, yacht club, golf course (sorry, private!), boat launch, an Audubon Society preserve that overlooks Wood Island lighthouse, a rocky oceanfront for rock climbing and exploring, and a two-mile beautiful sandy beach.

Location, Location, and Clean

Perfect location! Quiet neighborhood! Walk to beach! House is very clean! Kitchen needs updating (not good for gourmet homecooks)blew fuse when oven and 3 burners were on and electric is old (need 3-prong adapters for laptops, etc.). Queen mattress upstairs needs replacing, but room is clean and large with plenty of storage. Upstairs twin room is fine and has plenty of storage. Upstairs bath is narrow shower only, but very clean. Downstairs living/dining area is very comfortable and 1/2 bath is dated, but clean(just off of kitchen). Lowest level queen bed is fine and laundry room is a plus. The highlight is the front porch! We ate many meals on that porch - perfect! The price was great and having a clean place to stay is a high priority on my list, this had both!! All in all - a great house at a great price! Make sure to include this one on your short list!

I'm from Maine and love going back to Fortune's Rock. The house is great and well equipped. The location is right by the ocean. Seeing and hearing the ocean is wonderful. The house is located close to a nature preserve. Biddeford Pool is quiet and a little bit remote.

Best Christmas Ever!

Our Christmas stay at Biddeford Pool was everything we had hoped for and more. Accommodations were excellent and we enjoyed a stress free relaxing week. The owner, Maureen was very helpful and responded immediately to any questions we had prior to our visit. I highly recommend this property and will most likely visit it again.

Loved everything about it!

Despite being in the house on one of the windiest nights ever (hoping the roof would stay on!) at the tail end of the April tornadoes we found the place delightfully warm and cosy. It was like stepping back in time with many retro original features including the amazing General Electric oven and hob, pine cladding and awesome basement with a bar (we don't have basements in the UK much) which the children loved! The place is so well equipped - Maureen has thought of everything. The new beds were incredibly comfortable and we all slept really well. The central heating is very effective and quick to heat up the house. The surrounding area is lovely although it was quite cold and windy for our stay - I'm sure summers there are amazing. For activities we walked on the lovely beach, visited Portland (amazing waves following the storms) and Biddeford, and shopped at Kittery. Otherwise we had a wonderfully relaxing time at the house. We rented some Red Box dvds from a nearby store, had some wonderful meals out - our favourite was Longhorn Steak House. All in all the only negative thing was that we wanted to stay much longer - 3 nights wasn't enough! We would love to return to the house one day, perhaps in the summer. Highly recommended.

my family rented this house for the week around my graduation from medical school. despite the fact that we had AWFUL weather (rain almost every day) pretty uncharacteristic of maine this time of year, we had a great stay. maureen was extremely thoughtful and flexible and made our experience even better. we threw a bbq party and had most of the things we would ever need, including plenty of outdoor seating (at least 15 outdoor chairs), a grill, and all of the kitchen wares we needed. prior to the visit maureen was kind enough to let me enter the house and check it out to see what we may need to bring. she also even let us stay an extra day at the end of the week as a last minute graduation gift! i have had experiences with other rentals in biddeford pool and hills beach in the past and while there are many bigger, fancier, and WAY pricier places to stay, this is by far the best value with the kindest owners who are not interested in tacking on as many extra fees as possible. i would highly recommend this rental. its location cannot be beat with a two minute walk to one of the best LONG sandy beaches in maine. thanks again, maureen!

Wonderfully Relaxing

This property was exactly as advertised in the listing. I cannot vouch for any of the listed activities that were not between the cottage and the ocean as we stayed for only a weekend and we did nothing but cook, eat, rest, sleep and comb the beach. March is cold and windy in Maine, so we did not enter the water. It was absolutely wonderful, exactly what I was looking for. The owner was responsive and cooperative. As this was the first rental of the season the internet and cable were not on, but the owner had them turned on upon our request. I don't believe there can be a better recommendation than that I fully intend to rent this property in the future.
