Description of the Big Bear Lake vacation cabin rental

With this AD-call for this month's FAMILY REUNION SPECIAL ($200-500/night) parking @ front door, Level boat parking available on-site... Quiet Neighborhood and Immaculately clean. Enjoy the Spring, The hiking and biking trails are open and ready. Enjoy an intimate weekend or a family gathering...Bear Pad is a 3 bedroom 2 Bath property, Moose Pad is a 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath property next door, between both we can sleep 25, rent one or Both!! they are just about 5 minutes from the ski resorts, the Lake and The Village. There is a Circle K about 300 yards from the property The bus stop is there as well...why drive!! This wonderful property has new carpet and couches and is decorated in Warm Mountain Decor. Downstairs you will find the Living room complete with Fireplace, TV and VCR/DVD, there is a Fully Equipped Kitchen with small dining table, a bedroom with a Queen sized bed and a Full Bath. Just step outside the back door to your own private patio area completely fenced with a Large Sunken Jacuzzi. Upstairs there is a 1/2 bathroom and two more bedrooms, one with 2 Queens and a Futon and the other with a King and a Single (This bedroom also has a balcony!) Next Door to this property is Moose Pad (3 Bedroom 2 Bath)...rent them both for a group retreat! Small dogs welcome!

Area Information

The Big Bear valley boasts a beautiful alpine lake in the heart of a scenic mountain valley. Big Bear Lake is approximately 1 1/2 hours from Disneyland, The San Diego Zoo and Wild Animal Park. About 2 hours to the famous Southern California Beaches. A short, approximately 1 1/2 hour Trip to Joshua Tree National Monument.

Big Bear offers a variety of recreation activities including picnic areas, scenic viewpoints, water skiing, snow skiing/snowboarding, tobogganing and snow play, hiking, fishing, boating, bird watching (Bald Eagles can be spotted here every winter), dancing, car shows, shopping and the best 4th of July fireworks in Southern California (over the lake!).

Big Bear Lake is about 7 miles long and averages ½ mile wide. The lake itself sits at about 6700 feet and is surrounded by pine covered mountains, the tallest of which is Sugarloaf Mountain at a height of 9957 feet. There are over 500 miles of hiking trails in the San Bernardino Mountains some of the best of which are located right here in the Big Bear area, including portions of the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail and there are trails to match anyone's ability. If mountain biking is your thing then Snow Summit is the place for you, with world-class mountain bike trails traversing the mountain. Or if riding down the mountain on a board or a pair of skis is your idea of fun, than wait for the snow to fly and head up to Snow Summit or Bear Mountain. There are a number of marinas in the valley where you can rent a boat for skiing, fishing or just cruising around the lake.

Why rent from us?
We endeavor to make your Big Bear experience a wonderful one and give you personalized attention from the beginning with having someone greet you with a warmed up cabin and a heated jacuzzi. Our jacuzzi is professionally maintained and the water is treated and checked weekly.

Our property is level with only a couple of steps for access. If someone in your group has limitations, there is a double door entry and one queen bedroom, bathroom and jacuzzi all on the downstairs level.

We only own two rentals at Big Bear, the Bear Pad and the Moose Pad. They are shaded and quiet with few neighbors. They are kept pristinely clean and tastefully decorated. The beds are freshly made up for our guests each time. The dishes,cups, tableware & glassware are of excellent restaurant quality. We can usually offer early check in or late check out at no extra charge. We offer a variety of specials especially for returning guests.

Best Kept Secret in Big Bear!!

This place is fantastic! It is close to everything yet far enough away to be quiet. I love the fact that we could park our car right in front of the cabin, it is level AND WE COULD KEEP IT THERE! We road the bus into the village, ski slopes-drop off right in front of the slopes, and where ever in and around town.. It only cost $1.00! Didnt have a hassel or expense of parking. We walked about 3 blocks away from the cabin and there is a wonderful forest with all the sledding you could ever want---WE HAD THE ENTIRE AREA TO OURSELVES! Our kids loved it. The decor of the cabin was great all in Bears! It was warm and comfortable and extremely clean. The owners have everything you need--this is not a paperplate and plastic utensils place, the dishes and pots and pans are better then I have at home. Their housekeeper and handy-man were great--they checked in on us just to make sure everything was OK! When do you get that! The sunken spa was great after a long day of skiing. We are planning to book for next year and this summer before they get all booked-up! Thank you Jan & Tom for a great weekend in the mountains!

Awesome & cozy cabin w/ very hospitable owners

Our group consisted of 9 college students, and everyone was very pleased with the cabin. The cabin was very cute and extremely cozy--very suitable for a retreat or gathering for about 10 people. We arrived at around 10pm, and it was very cold in Big Bear; but the owners already had the heater and lights on, which we were very grateful for. The jacuzzi was also already warmed up, and it felt wonderful, especially after skiing for a whole day! The late check-out was definitely a plus since we were all tired from the day before. Lastly, Jan and Tom are very nice people and were very hospitable owners; they made the reservation process and the stay very smooth and easy-going. Thanks a lot!

Cute Cabin!

This is a very clean, cute, comfortable and affordable cabin. Its small, but accomidated the 8 of us very well. The only issue we had was that there was only one shower, but we managed. Our stay here was wonderful. Debbie was very responsive to our needs, even when we got lost. She was just great!!

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:Where can we park off street.?

A:No Problem, there is a 3 space level driveway right in front of Bear Pad. If you have more vehicles then that, no worries we own a private parking lot next door at Moose Pad which can hold a total of 5-6 vehicles. This also is a level lot.

Q:Where is the closest Store?

A:There is a Circle K Market and gas station to the left about 400 feet from the Bear Pad for all of your needs.

Q:What if something goes wrong in the house?

A:We have our own handyman that lives only a couple of blocks from Bear Pad. His number is posted by the telephone in Bear Pad. He is also a low cost source for fire wood at EXTREMELY low prices and HE DELIVERS!.

Q:How close are the ski slopes?

A:The ski slopes are about a mile from bear pad. Why go through the hassle of traffic and parking fees at the slopes which parking is expensive and blocks away! Take the bus which stops a block from Bear Pad at Big Tree and returns you to the Circle K! The cost is $1.00 each way. It takes you right in front of the slopes and drops you off right at the entrance!

Q:What if my kids just want to play in the snow?

A:There is an entire forest about 2-3 blocks to the right of the Bear Pad with plenty of room for sleds, building snowmen and climbing to the top of the ridge.

Q:How do I pay for my stay?

A:It is really easy, we use Paypal, we are a Verified Payee and this is a really safe and fast method to transfer money. This protects you as well as us. Of course, time permitting, we accept Checks and Money Orders as well.
