Description of the Big Bear Lake vacation townhouse rental

Welcome to our cozy lake side mountain home located in the Bay Shore Ski and Racquet Club in Big Bear Lake.
This is not your standard full time vacation rental. This is our private home which we will be renting out from Christmas Day 2012 through mid-March 2013 while we are away on an extended obligation out of state. Rest assured, we will have a readily available local property manager to attend to any needs or concerns that may arise during your stay.
This beautiful two story town home condo is perfect for your family's winter vacation. The small complex of town homes is nestled along Metcalf Bay in the area known as Boulder Bay. Enjoy the beauty of Big Bear Lake but slightly removed from the hustle and bustle. Walking distance to Boulder Bay Park, a block from Pleasure Point Marina and directly on the local bus line. The Alpine Slide, Tubing Hill and free national forest sledding area are only 1.3 miles away. The Village with it's great shops, movie theater, bowling alley and countless restaurants only 2 miles away and easily accessible by bus, bike or car. Bear Mountain and Snow Summit Ski areas are less than 5 miles away. The local bus to Bear Mountain picks up on the edge of the complex for a mere $1.50 each way. No parking or shuttle hassles, let Mountain Transit drop you directly at the ski resort.
Our cozy town home is not designed as a rental property with as many beds as possible squeezed into every corner to accommodate as many people as possible. It is a comfortable place designed to make you feel at home during your stay.
Upstairs is a wonderfully private master bedroom with lovely cottage decor, a quiet corner to read and relax, TV with cable and a full attached bath.
Downstairs is a second bedroom with fun mountain decor, another cozy reading corner, TV with VCR/DVD and cable and a full attached bath.
The great room is homey and comfortable with slipcover furniture, a cozy reading corner by the fireplace. The fireplace has a gas starter and your first bundle of wood is provided free of charge and will be laid out and ready to start when you arrive. Also in the great room is a Vizio flat screen TV and DVD with cable and of course FREE wi-fi internet service for our guests to use. Also included is an extensive library of movies for every age.
The dining room easily seats six with seating for two more at the bar. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need including gas stove/oven, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, waffle iron, rice cooker, crock pot, dishes, pots/pans, and more. A full size washer and dryer are provided for our guests. The deck has a gas BBQ which you are welcome to use, even in the winter.
Guests are invited to use the two community spas which are open year round. There is a spacious grassy area perfect snow play, weather permitting. If the weather does not cooperate there is still plenty to do in the Village or stay home by the fire and enjoy one of our many board games.
This town home comfortably sleeps four in the two bedrooms and if needed, an additional queen size air bed is provided for your use, there is plenty of room for it in the great room. We also have a porta-crib if needed for our tiny guests. Plenty of fresh towels and bed linens are provided for your comfort as are lots of cozy blankets and comforters. Our dedicated cleaning crew has the condo clean and ready before your visit and does the cleaning after your stay.
Parking is available for 2 vehicles. In consideration of our other guests indoor smoking is NOT permitted. Pets will be considered on a case by case basis.
There is a fully refundable reservation/security deposit of $250 per stay. The rental fees can be paid up front or in easy to handle installments. All stays require a two night minimum with the exception of New Year's Weekend which is four nights, MLK and President's Weekend which are three nights.

I had the pleasure of staying at your property rental this month and what beautiful scenery and the most perfect weather could anyone ask for. Your property was located right off of the lake for easy walking. Also very close to the village for some shopping. Your condo was quite cozy with all the amenities needed for a relaxing weekend. The property was located in an ideal place to enjoy all that Big Bear has to offer. Clean Clean Clean inside and out with all the basic necessities need for a short vacation. Helpful with finding boat / jet ski rentals and even a 10% discount on them! Relaxing and fun place.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q:Are pets allowed?
A:We will consider dogs only on a case by case basis (sorry, allergies do not permit us to consider cats). All dogs must be on a strict flea regemine ie. Frontline or similar product and must be up to date on vaccines. Please provide detailed information about your pet with your inquiry to enable us to make an informed decision. If allowed you will be responsible for adhering to HOA rules as to the behavior of your pet and you will be responsible for the cleanliness of the town home as it relates to your pet both during and at the end of your stay.
Q:Is smoking permitted?
A:There is absolutely NO smoking inside the town home. You may smoke on either the front porch or back deck as long as windows and doors are closed to ensure smoke does not enter the premises. Smokers are responsible for policing their own butts so as not to create a hazard for the local wildlife.
Q:Is there on site storage for our snow gear?
A:There is a good size hall at the front entrance of the town home, plenty of room for inside storage of your ski and snowboarding equipment as well as sleds and tubes.
Q:What if we forget our hats, gloves, mittens and scarfs or just don't want to go to the expense of purchasing them for a few days in the mountains?
A:We've got you covered: In the front entry area you will find a pine chest filled with scarves, hats, gloves, mittens and even slipper socks, for ever age and gender. All we ask is that when you are done with them you place them in the basket provided in the laundry room so we can make sure they are washed and ready for our next guests.
Q:Even thought it's wnter can we still barbeque?
A:Yes, if you are hearty enough to stand outside in the cold to get some great tasting grilled steaks then we will make sure that the gas grill is available for your use and a full propane tank.
Q:Is firewood provided?
A:We do provide our guests with their first batch of firewood. It will be laid out in the fireplace and ready to start as soon as you arrive. Additional firewood can be purchased most anywhere in Big Bear from markets to gas stations. The most reasonably priced however is one of two locations on Big Bear Blvd just east of Division. There you can get any amount you need, from a small bundle, to a wheel barrel to a truck load.
