This unique cabin, located in the Gorda-Lucia area of Big Sur, sits 650 feet above sea level and commands uncomparable whitewater views. High above Hwy One, it is possible to see migrating Grey whales, Humpbacks, dolphins, sea otters, ships, wild pigeons, plus an occasional hang glider landing below. If very lucky, you might go eyeball-to-eyeball with a magnificent California Condor.
For an ACTIVE vacation, surf or picnic at Sand Dollar Beach or hunt for jade at Jade Cove, both only 5 minutes away. Drive one hour or less in either direction to visit Hearst Castle, Elephant Seal Beach, Esalen, Big Sur Village, Nepenthe, The Hermitage, Julia Pfieffer and LimeKiln State Parks to name a few highlights. Tour Hearst Castle then spend a day shopping for unique art in charming Cambria. Hike from numerous trailheads a short drive from the cabin. Drive a bit more than an hour and you can visit Mission San Antonio or wine taste in Paso Robles wine country.

If you prefer a more RELAXED Vacation,enjoy the view of the ever-changing Pacific from the two decks. Bring your DVD's, CD's, novels, or watch your favorite TV programs on the 36 or 27 inch sets. Enjoy a spectacular sunset from the warmth of the hot tub or wait until later to see a blanket of stars overhead with no city lights to compete. Fall asleep to the sounds of the surf, sea lions, crickets and frogs. View wildlife from the couch and birdwatch from the rocker.(Big Sur Coast Cabin is a certified backyard wildlife habitat site).Curl up with your favorite novel. Forget that novel? Enjoy meeting a new author from the cabin's small library. For a special treat, enjoy an in-house massage from a licensed massage therapist. Reservations can be made for you.
Big Sur Coast Cabin is eco-friendly and supports those practices which are environmentally sound. Twin beds are handmade, organic,and chemical free.Linens are organic, down or down alternative. The cabin is powered by solar and generator energy.
10% of rental fees are donated to local, Big Sur non-profit organizations.

Area Description

The cabin is located 55 miles south of Monterey and 30 miles north of Cambria. Hiking trails abound and the property abuts national forest.
