Nice place but needed work

March 11, 2008

The location and overall cabin appearance was very nice but seemed just slightly neglected. 2 fireplaces, one gas only fireplace did not work at all, the other wood burning needs the chimney swept/cleaned. Smoke could not exit thru chimney but it did exit inside the cabin. The TV upstairs (1 of 2) did not work. Hot tub was kept too cold (60 degress) so we had to wait 8 hrs to get temp up, even needed a small amount of chemicals/filtering. If owners could correct these things the place would be fabulous.

Snowy retreat

January 24, 2008

We spent 4 days at the house. We had 8 people in our group, 5 adults and 3 children. There was plenty of room for everyone to have a bedroom to themselves. The house was well equipped with appliances, linens, and dishes. The only problem we encountered was the fireplace upstairs. We tried to use it twice and the smoke would blow into the house instead of up the chimney. It was not near anything but the drive into Boone was not bad. The children liked having the room outside to play and hike. Overall we enjoyed the house and would stay there again!

winter getaway

January 3, 2008

The cabin was very clean and had a great atmosphere. We enjoyed the area very much. Very addicting. Very secluded but still close to everything. We skied at Hawksnest and visited Boone and Grandfather mountain. Very nice and great time for our family.

Relaxing

October 15, 2007

The cabin is very well kept. And the ambiance is amazing. We enjoyed sitting outside everynight listening to the frogs. There was plenty of space to accomadate all of us and the stuff we brought. The down fall of this cabin is that it is not very close to anything and kind of hard to find. Overall though we really enjoyed our family vacation and would visit again.
