Description of the Boone vacation cabin rental
Andrew’s River Haven is our newest addition with all the amenities that a rental should have to make it the best vacation your family has ever enjoyed. Not only is the cabin beautiful, but it has been decorated with the best furniture and accessories that can be found. With over 200 yards of river frontage, it has a beautiful view of both the river meandering down the valley and also a mountain view of pastures and mountain peaks in the distance. It is rare to have both river frontage and a view, but this house has both. You can fish, tube, canoe, splash, and in some areas swim the New River. You will love this.

The house is also located on the historic Railroad Grade Road, known for its flat roads following the river bed where you can bike or walk for over 10 miles and enjoy incredible views and peace- winter or summer. You can ride to Todd and have lunch or stop at the corner store for a picnic and take it with you, visiting the numerous beautiful spots along the river. This is a rare and unique area that offers little development while only 10 minutes to Boone or the Blue Ridge Parkway, 20 minutes to the ski slopes or Blowing Rock and still a hop, skip and a jump to scenic routes to all the tourist attractions - we even provide an extensive list of favorites that need to be visited while in this area.

First let’s talk about the amenities. The house is in the perfect location for just playing around in the shallow river, bikes for riding along the river, and a spacious fenced yard for children or pets and parents’ peace of mind. Nearby is a large stone fire pit for nighttime fun while watching a large night sky, roasting hot dogs, making s’mores, or cuddling up in the night chilled air.

The exterior has a swing and rocking chairs on the covered deck and a large outside dining table for looking at the view and enjoying a family dinner. Want more peace? Go to the front covered porch with its own rockers and view.

The interior with its hardwood floors and paneling is beautifully decorated with all the best furniture from the NC furniture manufacturers, complemented by lovely linens, pillow top mattresses, goose down quilts, local artist’s paintings of mountain scenes, and the whole mountain atmosphere. With 3 bedrooms and a loft, the bedrooms have 2 kings and one queen, while the loft has a queen bed and 1 single for waking up looking out over the river. The downstairs playroom is complete with a bumper pool table, air hockey, professional foosball table and ping pong table. If that is not enough for your children to do, there is also a GameCube with 2 controllers.

In the winter, the stone gas fireplace with beautiful wood mantel allows you to cuddle up and watch TV, the fire, or possibly the snow falling. Even if you are inside, you can still see the river and go fishing if you are brave enough. While only 8 miles to Boone, you are close to all the tourist attractions and ski slopes.

This is a house that we think offers everything for your vacation fun and enjoyment. Come and have a great time!

Andrew's River Haven has paved access all the way to the cabin.

For larger groups, consider renting this cabin with Rolling River right next door, or nearby River Mountain Cabin less than one mile away.

Please remember 4WD or chains are always recommended when visiting the mountains in winter.

Winter Bliss

February 18, 2010

We had a wonderful time at this cabin!!!! We picked this cabin because it was dog friendly and we wanted our Florida lab to see and play in the snow, he loved it!!!! The cabin is done to perfection, it had everything we needed. The bedding and beds were very warm and comfortable, the kitchen was fully stocked with every cooking item you could need. I have only one suggestion, in the winter time it would be nice if there was a snow shovel, or ice scrapper. We are from Florida and had to get creative to scrape the ice off the car and the shovel might have made it easier getting out of the driveway. Also, to all perspective renters, believe it when the rental company tells you to have a 4 wheel drive or chains on your tires, they are NOT kidding!!!!! Overall, it was an awesome time and we would like to come back for the summer.

House was in great shape. Enjoyed the bikes and gameroom. Only negative was the washing machine did not work well and the grass was too tall to play outdoor games on. Really needed to be cut

rental was ok

October 27, 2008

The cabin was small and not very clean. It does not sleep 12 comfortably and the one couch is old and full of dust. The door to one of the bathrooms was broken off the jam and could not be closed. 3 of the tvs didn't work and the video advertised a pool table in the video, there wasn't one! Also, the gas fire place was not in working order. The fence for the dogs was very short, we could not use the area for our dog, which was one of the reasons we rented the cabin. We called and reported the problems as soon as we arrived and not only did they not seem apologetic they charged our credit card $65 for wood within 1 day of us being there, yet the only repair they were willing to do was "come and look at the door" half way through the trip. The area was gorgeous, the cabin was not. We will not use this outfit again.

Over all it is an outstanding home. I would certainly recommend this cabin to anyone. It's close to everything and has all the amenities that one can hope for. The only thing that I would caution is that it's no as large as the photos represent. I wouldn't advise going up with anymore that 8 people. 12 would be tight.

Spring Baseball Fever

March 26, 2008

Our son played against ASU this weekend and what a great getaway from the normal hotel room. Kitchen remarkably stocked, well done! Very clean!! Two things we would change; Hot tub could have been warmer, 104 not hot enough. Need dvd in living room. Oh by the way, UNCG swept the mountain men. Go Spartans

Nice place for lots of people. Took 2 days for hot tub to heat up. Also water heater had a special valve, not enough for a couple of days. Some information would have been nice. Otherwise was exceptional.

We really enjoyed our time at this location. The house was clean, comfortable, and a lot of fun. We enjoyed a lot of pool playing, the big screen TV, and the mountain scenery. Highly recommended.
