The cabin is modern and beautiful. We planned on visiting more area attractions than we did. Instead, we took advantage of the beauty that surrounded the cabin itself. It allowed me to spend quality time with my three young children and reconnect with them. Together we went for walks in the woodlands and picked berries, fished and swam together in the lake behind the cabin, and went tubing down the river that is located approximately a mile away, at the bottom of the mountain. We also saw deer walking through the back yard in the morning. I was blessed to have had this relaxing vacation experience with my family. I would definately recommend this cabin to anyone who is looking for a wilderness retreat, interested in walking trails, biking or looking for a place that is close to many local attractions. We plan on staying there again in the future.

Cabin by the Lake exceeded our expectations. The homeowners designed a comfortable, spacious vacation home and decorated it beautifully. In addition to a modern kitchen, open floor plan, wonderful deck, satellite television, computer with internet access, the home has a monitored security system. Although it is located conveniently to local sightseeing attractions, we would have been happy to spend our entire vacation at the Cabin by the Lake, enjoying the lake only steps away from the home and the forest surrounding the home. The homeowners were so gracious and hospitable. We would love to visit again

I would almost like to say it was horrible so that no one else would find this incredible jewel. I will have to say that it was just amazing! The setting, the cabin and the owners were just the best and they all made our week wonderful. Peace and quiet abound and the luxury of this cabin will be just what you need. It is just above the New River so don't be afraid to go tubing, rafting or kayaking. You won't regret it. Take the bikes for a spin on Railroad Grade Rd., it is great fun. There is so much to enjoy, and so much to make this place shine!

My definition of a cabin has certainly changed. This is a clean, comfortable, well furnished home. The location is beautiful and the decor is a pleasant blend of the rustic and antique with the up-to-date! I will recommend this property to those who like the look of a log cabin, but who appreciate the most modern amenities. And I'm already planning my next visit.

I'm losing count, but I believe this past week was our third adventure at Cabin by the Lake. (should have been the 4th time, but it was booked) It has become our favorite rendezvous spot to relax and rejuvenate with family. The cabin has a tasteful decor with an ambience of rustic elegance. There is a hynotic, mesmerizing, and magical appeal that leaves us craving to return to this same spot. The views in Fleetwood Falls are breathtaking. There is something for everyone to do... roasting marshmallows and hotdogs, hiking to the falls, jogging around the scenic paths, talking with neighbors, grilling out, fishing the pond and the New River, kayaking, canoeing, reading, shopping, sightseeing, theme parks, ... it's all readily accessible. Better yet... recharging batteries at no pace at all. Cabin by the Lake is certainly a premiere destination spot in the mountains of North Carolina for us. We are hopelessly smitten.

The Best in Fleetwood Falls!!!

As we entered Fleetwood Falls and made our way to the cabin we were admiring all the homes in the resort. We couldn't believe when we made it to "The Cabin by the Lake". It was the most attractive home in the community. Not only did the cabin have that "country" atmosphere, it also had the modern technology of internet, flat screen TV's, surround sound, and all the necesseties in the kitchen for making excellent meals. The owners provided us with everything we needed including area sites and attractions!!! This was our first family vacation in the mountains and because of "The Cabin by the Lake", it will definitely not be our last!!!
P.S. The lake had plenty of bass, catfish, and brim, too!!!
