Description of the Boone vacation cabin rental

Pear Tree Cottage is our dog friendly cabin in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina located between Boone and Blowing Rock. It has central air conditioning and heating.


When we are not using it as our "get-away" from Charlotte, we would be delighted for you to enjoy it.

It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms and there is a queen areobed for two extra people.

There are TV's in each room as well as VCR/DVD and CD player. There are games (darts,jigsaw puzzles, cribbage), books, video tapes, DVDs and CDs for your enjoyment.

The kitchen is fully equipped and there is a washer and dryer in the laundry closet.

Although the cottage is set in the countryside, you will find excellant restaurants and shopping very close by. The towns of Boone and Blowing Rock are only 10 minutes in either direction.

We are guessing you already know of the most famous attractions in our area: Grandfather Mountain, Sugar Mountain, Blue Ridge Parkway, Appalachian State University.

There is, however, so much else to do. Just down the road from Pear Tree Cottage is Flat Top Manor, built by the extrordinay philanthropist, Moses H. Cone. (Do look him up on the internet before you go to see it).It houses the craft shop operated by the Southern Highland Handicraft Guild, there is no admission fee.

If your horse likes to go on holiday with you, within walking distance is the Yonahlossee Saddle Club where they are happy to offer short term livery.

You and the children can also enjoy the Highland Games, gem mining, the Tweetsie railraod and all the other activities listed below.

For those of you who love riding but didn't bring your horse, there is a stable behind the famous Mast General Store in Valle Cruse where you can rent and take a trail ride through the countryside.

If you inquire soon, before this possibility is blocked by the odd week's booking here and there, we will negotiate a rental price with you.
