We are a little unhappy that we weren't fully informed about the inability to get to the river. The area supposedly for guests was overgrown and inaccessible. The person my husband spoke with didn't tell the whole truth about accessing the river from the house, her merely said the river was 150 feet away (not straight down!) On our last day, painters showed up in the morning requesting to be allowed in the house to paint well before check out time. So, while the website is great, the company didn't handle some particulars very well!

Great summer get away to beat the heat!

We had a great 5-day escape at Hillside Heaven. It was very clean and well equipped with everything we needed to make our stay worry free. Linins, towels, cooking utensils and pots and pans, grill, washer & dryer, wireless, DVD players, hot tub... The subdivision is quiet and the views from the cabin were awesome. Access to the river was a short walk down the hill. It was a short drive to Boone but far enough away to give you a feeling of seclusion. Access to zip lining, river rafting, shopping, and the Blue Ridge Parkway is all within and easy 30 min drive. It was also great that we could bring our lab to enjoy our hikes with us. The cabin owner was great to work with and ensured we had everything we needed. Great experience and would definitely rent again

Great cabin for annual golf/family trip
Date of Stay August 10, 2012
We had stayed in another cabin in the same development a couple of years ago, but Hillside Heaven was by far a better stay for us! Very nice and clean with a pool table down stairs and hot tub on the deck. Really short drive to downtown Boone and other area towns with different attractions that we enjoy.....like hiking, Tanger Outlet (and plenty of other places to shop), tubing, golf, etc. Short walk from the cabin to the river. It is real easy to get to because all roads leading to the cabin are paved! There are many other cabins in the mountains that are way more difficult to travel. And the owner was a pure joy to talk to and work with getting all of the details worked out!!! LOVED IT!!! Larry

We Loved It!

The cabin was a great place for us to stay. We were in Boone, visiting our son at ASU. Staying at the cabin, which wasn't that far from campus, my son could come out, visit, play pool, and just relax. We didn't have to visit in a restaurant or at his dorm. That was so nice. I was even able to fix my son his blueberry pancakes! When my son was busy, we could relax, watch tv, use the hot tub, take walks looking at the beautiful scenery, or drive around town since we were close to everything in Boone. The cabin was clean and the beds were comfortable. Marcia (the owner) was very nice and helpful. I would recommend this cabin for your next trip to Boone!
Thanks so much Ellen! I do hope that you can come again sometime! The winter is totally different and very beautiful!
