Description of the Boothbay Harbor vacation cottage rental
There is a dock for your kayak or boat or use our new kayaks included in your rental. For larger boats we have a mooring with 7' of water at low tide.
You can cook your own Maine lobster and steamers over a wood fire in our outdoor fireplace, pots and pans provided or walk down the street and have your shore dinner prepared by one of the local restaurants. Be sure to save room for some delicious Smore's roasting your marshmallow's over the open fire.
The views from your cottage include Barrett's Park, Lobster Cove, Linekin Bay and world famous Cabbage Island.
You can walk to the town center in 5 minutes where there is unlimited shopping and restaurants, boats moored and docked in the harbor.
From the harbor you can catch a whale watching boat, deep sea fishing boat, take a sail on the Eastwind with Captain and author Herb Smith, or just a nice cruise around the harbor and surrounding islands and watch the seals, puffins and whales in their natural habitat.
This is a Maine vacation at its best and one that will call you back to the unique and beautiful shores of Boothbay Harbor.
Transportation is available from the Portland International Jetport or the Concord Coach bus stop in Wiscasset.
We are located just off the Maine Island Trail between the Sheepscot and Damariscotta Rivers. Paddle right up to our dock for a few nights rest and the exploration of Boothbay Harbor on foot and approximately 5 miles north of Damriscove Island. The cottage is adequate for two people only. No extra overnight guests allowed. This is a non-smoking and no pet property.
WE ARE CURRENTLY TAKING RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2013 SEASON. Just a short drive from the city to enjoy the quietness of the nature that surrounds you! Don't wait ...reservations are going fast!

Outstanding
October 7, 2012
The stay was just what I needed. The views are awesome, waking up with the sunrise so colorful was amazing. I also, loved the fact that you could walk to town and didn't really need the car all the time. Great location and great owners. Will be back again. PS the restaurants are wonderful!!! Place so clean as well!!! Loved it....

Wonderful stay
October 4, 2012
So enjoyed our stay in this delightful cottage on linekin bay. Our hosts made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. We will return to Boothbay Harbor and to this wonderful cottage.
Owner's reply:
Hi Diane and Tom, I found your wool socks under the bed after your departure. They are in the mail and you should receive them shortly. We are looking forward to your return next season and will cook you another Maine shore dinner with lobster, steamers and all the fixin's. Take care, Mac and Nan

Seaside Retreat on Linekin Bay
August 27, 2012
This up-to-date, cozy cottage on the Bay was a peaceful getaway for my husband and I. The beautiful view and charming cottage where only second to the warm and welcoming hospitality of our hosts Nancy and Mac. They welcomed us like family and even shared a Downeast clambake with us. The walking distance to town, kayaking at our door and the many trails nearby provided a memorable week of simple pleasures. We look forward to returning again. Our thanks to Nancy and Mac!

Little Hideaway
August 16, 2012
This property is a little gem. The cottage is clean, well equipped, feet from the waterfront and also a very short walk to the footbridge into the downtown area. There is a private dock with two new kayaks that we used to explore the bay. I even caught fish from my kayak. Speaking of fishing, Mac and Nancy took us to a local dock and taught us to fish for mackerel. After teaching us how to clean the fish, they let us use their outdoor cooking facilities to prepare both our mackerel and the steamer clams we purchased. They were very helpful when we needed it, but also gave us as much privacy as we desired. We look forward to returning to this little hideaway in the future.

Maine Coast Getaway
September 29, 2011
We wanted a peaceful, relaxing and scenic spot to spend our wedding anniversary, and this cabin was everything we could have hoped for. While cozy, the layout works to create different spaces within. We loved taking the canoe for a short ride to swim at Barrett Park. Even though you are right in town, with all the restaurants and shopping less than five minute's drive away, there is plenty of privacy. Nancy and Mac were there if we needed them, but left us on our own as we desired. If you're considering a trip to the Maine coast - and we think you should! - Boothbay Harbor is a perfect mix of all there is to offer, and this spot is a perfect home base from which to enjoy it.

Memorable vacation!
June 16, 2011
First let me say how quaint, cute, adorable and cozy this cottage is! The weather was HORRIBLE! Freezing, raining and windy- but we managed to still have a wonderful, memorable vacation. The cottage is literally on the water with a lovely dock where we started our canoe ride- we would have had access to a great grill and outdoor stove to BBQ and steam lobsters, but sadly the weahter didn't permit. The cottage is a 5 minute walk to a lovely park overlooking the inlet where we played bocci for hours, 5 minutes from the co-op where we sat twice and stuffed ourself with lobster, steamers and beer and the cottage is a 10 minute walk over the bridge to delicious restaurants. I recommend the italian place if you over indulged yourself with seafood like we did. There are tons of inns, bed and breakfasts, and motels in Boothbay- the cottage has the prettiest view out of all of them, has a kitchen with full sized fridge and hotplate, and has the best bang for your buck (I researched)! Nancy was so welcoming and gave us some fun things to do. We headed to the nature preserve and hiked (yes, in the rain..) Highly recommend that. We came from LA to have a very Maine experience and that's exactly what Nancy, Boothbay and the Cottage delivered. I loved every second, rain or shine.

Waterside Retreat
October 29, 2010
Having travelled from London looking for the perfect location to enjoy Maine's beautiful countryside, Mac and Nancy's cabin didn't disappoint. It was a cosy and well equipped holiday home with stunning waterside views, various outdoor pursuits on its doorstep and only a short walk from the lovely Boothbay Harbour. We would highly recommend the cabin to other couples visiting the region.

A week of relaxation !
August 25, 2010
We had a wonderful time during our stay at Nancy and Mac's cottage in BoothBay Harbor. They did everything possible to make sure we felt at home. The location is perfect: very quiet around the cottage and all kinds of activities at 10 minutes walk: boat tours, restaurants, art galeries, etc. The cottage is small but comfortable for 2 adults. We'll go back for sure.

My husband and I just returned from a week's vacation in Boothbay Harbor, ME. I have never been to Maine, but always wanted to visit there. After months of research on the on internet looking for "just the right" cottage on a harbor to stay, I ran across Nancy and Mac's place. It looked and sounded perfect and it was priced right, so I booked it and off to Maine we went. When I got there, the cottage exceeded our expectations. It is small, but perfect for a couple. The view of Linekin Bay was breathtaking and we spent a lot of our time enjoying the seabreezes on the deck. You don't need air conditioning because the cottage is filled with windows and there is a view out of each one of them. Of course, if you want to venture out to Boothbay Harbor, it is only a 10 minute walk over the footbridge where there are a lot of things to do like sailing, whale watching, clam bakes etc., as well as quant little shops and restuarants. Our hosts were very accommodating and if we have an opportunity to visit this area again, I will definately look up Nancy and Mac.

Cozy Cottage for Two on Linekin Bay
August 12, 2010
My husband and I spent 9 days at this cozy little cottage tucked away in the corner of Linekin Bay. We enjoyed the quiet and solitude its location provided, but were thrilled with the short walking distance to the fun and excitement found at the heart of Boothbay Harbor. The recently constructed cottage provided all that we needed for a more than pleasant stay! We enjoyed kayaking and "treasure hunting" several times of day in the quiet harbor and along the miles of shoreline available. Bicycling made getting around the area easy and a great way to see the local sites. We enjoyed a couple of delicious meals in Boothbay Harbor's fine restaurants and many homemade meals right in our very own cottage by the water. What could be better than enjoying home cooked seafood that you pulled from the ocean waters yourself? Lazy afternoons were spent on the dock bench reading a book or simply taking in the view of Barrett Park across the way. Cool evenings were spent relaxing on the bank of the shore sipping cocktails and taking in the slow-paced living as the sun slowly set and shined brightly across the harbor. At night we fell asleep to the peaceful sounds of nature and as we slept, the numerous opened windows provided a refreshing and almost constant "air conditioning" right from Mother Nature herself! Both of us were extremely satisfied with our stay at this cozy cottage for two on Linekin Bay and look forward to our return.

Nice Cottage In Great Location
August 23, 2009
This cottage is in an excellent location on Linekin Bay, overlooking a beach and harbor. Dining and shops are only a short walk into the Village of Boothbay Harbor. The cottage has a nice layout and is ideal for a couple. I would recommend this cottage to any nature lover or outdoorsman. There was wildlife everywhere in the harbor including osprey, seals, dolphin and shore birds. The fishing was good as well.

Quiet little getaway
August 18, 2009
Overlooking the Linekiln Bay, there is a beautiful view out each window as well as from the private porch. The cottage is small but very comfortable for 2 people. Boothbay Harbor is a ten minute walk from cottage across the footbridge. The location is great for enjoying the activities available at Bootbay and for taking day trips up and down the coast. There are other rooms available from the owners. Our stay was very pleasant and we would recommend this spot for anyone wishing to enjoy a quiet stay at the ocean.
